First time grow...thoughts on my potential setup?

Hi guys, I wanted to run by some of you more expierenced growers the setup I intend to start out with.

I understand I can DIY a grow box for much cheaper however I am wanting something that is already built and ready to "turn key" and grow with as little of my hands needing to maintain the system as possible.

Here is the potential setup:

Superponic's SuperBox

Seeds:

Lowryder (Ganja Dwarf) feminized auto flowering seeds.....10ct.

I figure I will save the trouble at least in the beginning and go w. an auto flowering strain that is feminized and pick up a 10ct. of them to correspond w. the amt. of pots in the above SuperBox.

Any thoughts on how this setup and strain should go for a first time grower would be very much appreciated and thanks in advance:)

It looks like a decent system with the exception of the CFLs. If I was going to spend all that money I would like an HID light of some sort. It looks pretty idiot proof. It is a very expensive way to get your feet wet but you know that already. Good Luck with that.

don't get the seeds from that site. use nirvana or attitude.

i think attitude has the 10% off coupon.



and i was looking at the dimensions of that box, its not very big at all. if i was buying it i would want it to be bigger.

but it does have a lot of really cool features. i like the lock and key thing.

It looks like a pretty cool easy setup but like uga said the dim. are pretty small.youll want to watch the strain you put in there.i dont think youll be able to plant at every site.matter of fact you might only be able to utilize a few do to the fact most strains need the room side to side.

Due to topping my plants are usually as wide as they are tall. If they are too close together you are inviting mold, mildew and bud rot.

Thanks guys, so does anybody rec. a particular grow box like the one I posted but with better dimensions and lighting. Also is there really anything that user friendly with the Lowryder or is there a better auto feminized strain to go with?

save some money and just use a section of your closet, or go buy a big cabinet from a thrift store or flea market. build your own box.


plus IMO if you build your own box it adds to the fun of growing your own stuff. idk how to explain it, it makes you more proud of the end product knowing that all your equipment was built by you and not ordered off a website.

The prices on those pre-built cabinets are insane.

Just MHO (and even though you said you wanted turn-key) - But if stealth is your main concern, you could buy a closet that would fit in better, draw less attention, give you more space for growing, let you customize your equipment, and save you a lot of money. The only trade-off would be needing to light-proof it yourself and might require you to use some tools here and there to get it setup.

If stealth isn't your main concern, get a tent.

Either way, it would probably save you hundreds of dollars and let you grow bigger plants.

That is outstanding based on the fact that I viewed the 2nd grow link after the closet DIY directions....that really is the setup I am gunning for. Thanks guys for helping me out:)

I am a new grower too...about to do my first grow... I have growing experience just not with weed. Would it be safe to asume that if you have a abundance of light say like 2x600watt hps over a 30 square foot area that mold will have a hard time setting in? I have a 60 site aeroponic system thats why i was asking...its custom designed by a guy who has grown for 15 years.. he says that he designed it a little tighter than a aeroflo but he said that the plants will thrive a little better by doing so in his opinion. He has grown for 15 years so I trust his advice....what do you think?

You are definitely one of the wise ones sir. I have the same setup, but got the seeds from a friend in Jamaica though. The SuperCloset products are damn good and worth every penny. Don't listen to the nonsense about building one cheaper... people that can't afford it are going to knock it. People think a Maserati or an Aston Martin or something is a waste of money too.... unless they own or have driven one.
