Hi RIU im new here and its my first time growing.
my seedlings are almost 2 weeks old and i messed up by having the light too far away and slowly moving it closer to the plants
Seen someone do it like that in grow tutorials supposedly so plants wont go into shock or something
now the light is less than 2 inches away but its has been like that for a few days
my stems are super long and i dont know what to do. Is the plant pretty much screwed now or will it do fine like that
what can i do to stop growth of the stem so leaves can grow more. I have attached photos of my setup
photo 3.jpgphoto 5.jpgphoto 4.jpgphoto 1.jpgphoto.jpg
More info: transplanted into bigger rockwool cubes a week ago and I just soked it really quick in 5.5ph water (didnt rinse for an hourit as many growers here recommend)
Strains are Skunk 1, Power Flower and Critical
watered them with very light nutrient solution plus some addictive for roots that a guy at my hydrogrow store

Im thinking if I should place the rockwool cube in the grow mix and will it up higher so my stem is covered with mix. Is that a good idea?
Any Help or Tips will be highly appreciated

Is the light laying beside them how you're lighting them?

How many actual ways is your light ?

I'd have the light above them, not off to the side. First thought on stretchy plants is not enough light. Not sure what else could cause it though

Sorry forgot to mention I have 2, 4 feet T12 lights above them, one bulb is cool white the other one is warm, and another light just on the side laying.

What should I do at this point? should I just transplant them into pot with grow mix and just bury the stem more?

I would bury them deeper so that they can stand up on their own. I don't normally like doing that, but there's not much you can do other than burying the stem. If I were you I would make sure you have at least 15,000 lumens on them, which I am assuming is probably more than double what you currently have there. The more light the better and make sure it's as close to the tops of the plants as you can safely get it. Those clamping heat lamps with big CFL bulbs work great. I use 4 60watt CFLs that are 4000 lumens each for seedlings. Also if you are sticking with just a few lights it would be more beneficial to go with something at least 5500-6500 kelvin, not the warm light in the beginning. I had this same exact problem during my first grow. Good luck!

Well its not a great start. When they need support that early on, they have trouble supporting themselves. They need buried in whatever kind of medium your using if you want to salvage that.

Do I take from this that the T5 bulbs are NOT the High Output grow bulbs? If not you might as well go down to your local grow shop and bite the bullet and pony up the $ for the HO grow bulbs.....Home bulb T5's are not HO and you need to go by the "K" (temp range) HO bulbs for Veg and Flower (6500 = veg, 2700 = flower)

For now you need the "cool" or 6500K .

I just replaced the warm bulb which is only 3000k to the cool. so now i have 2 4 feet cool which are 4100k plus one CFL on the side and its 25w i believe.

Dude fuck the t5s put them under the 400mh at a lil distace and let it roll 400 is way better then fluros. The plants will grow quicker and it will fill out faster. When you put a baby plant outside do you shade it front alotnof sun..... nope more light the better. Start at 15inches top of plant to light and if the internodes are spreading more then an inch or so lower the light some. I go under t5s from seeds to there 4 inches tall in the seed starter tray then put In 1 gal pots and under a 1000 watt mh at 30 inches and they beast

With coco you definitely want to add garden lime to the coco or a calcium magnesium addition to the nutrient solution

Those are T12's. Like 1,400 lumen per 4 foot bulb. Very weak.

A 10 gal pot is suitable for a ten foot tree. Too large a pot, too little lights. Your first grow should always be bagseed. Odds are you'll kill em. I know I did.

Bagseed? what is that?
I am using free seeds that came with a purchase of some goodies that Im saving for later ;) but my very first grow i used 2 seeds that i found in some bud, but they died due to over-watering. Learned that lesson.

So you think 10gal is too big for mother plant under 400w MH?

" i used 2 seeds that i found in some bud," = bagseed. See, you did kill em, nearly everybody does. Yes 10 gallons is overkill. Generally you want about 1 gallon for every foot of height the finished plant will be. 3 gallon for a 3 ft. tall plant, 5 gallon for a 5 ft. tall plant and so on.
