First time grow - frosty buds

Hi guys

I have a random bagseed which seems to be a sativa. I planted this in early november and i saw the first flowers form on January 1st.

My purpose of this thread is two things:
- to show off what i've done, see what you all think;
- to inquire how long until I should harvest

do the buds look swollen? or will they swell more with time?

thanks guys bongsmilie

tough to say, they look good but flowering for only a month you probably have a ways to go yet
when you say it like that... it seems obvious haha. I'm questioning her yield. I'm hoping for anything around an oz from the looks of it but I wonder how much bigger those buds will swell.

I believe I have one 40w 2700k CFL, four 23w 2700k CFL and a single 23w 3500k CFL.

3ft x 1.5ft x 5ft approx. grow box dimensions

Yeah bro! You have a WAYS to go!! ;) Sativas take longer to flower then Indica. And yeah they should double in weight!!
And it really depends what & how much lighting you have on your babies as to how "much" they'll yeild bro!! Dank.

nice to hear it from the experts! :leaf:

it's tempting not to pick one off and smoke it, but i know the trichomes have no psychoactive ingredients yet so it would be a waste.

this baby smells really fruity with a little skunky haze almost like g13 or something. i can't pick out what this might be a seed from.. maybe i'll know after curing :weed:

today my friend who gave me the bag of seeds told me they had a white widow seed in there. anyone think she's the one? she has really stable genetics; survived many pH problems, nute burns, clone attempts, and overwater/drought spells... but she's a beauty.

Hey bro! Yeah she does look really nice!:weed: I have a grew out "White Widow" many times! Still have over 8 (fem) beans in my strain collection of this strain. ;) it kinda looks like it,but then it kinda doesn't! ;) but she still looks GREAT! And she will look crazy awesome here in a few weeks!! But I could be wrong! Because there is different breeders of a lot of same strains! And I have grew the same strain, from the same pack of beans & from the same breeder & both turned out looking different!! Crazy.. probley I would say the only "true" way to tel will be when she does finish up flowering, & you dry & cure her, the "taste" test will tell all bro!!.. ;)

I tried comparing her to other widow plants out there and saw some resemblance from some breeders but it usually looked like fatter leaves and a different green.

i can't wait for the taste test :D

this morning I had a look at the plant; seems I spoke too soon about the stable genetics. soil was still moist so it's probably not dehydration, although it was close to 90 degrees in there. any idea what this might be? cal mag?

Too hot I think. Do you have a way to cool your grow room?
its a cabinet with two standard PC fans, one is intake down low and the exhaust is up by the light fixture. i could remove some bulbs, out of the 6 that i have in there, but i don't know if that will hinder growth.

no clue

If you hit 90 it is too hot. Wouldn't want to give less light so I think you have to pull more air out of there somehow. Bigger fan?

i haven't got a larger fan, but the reason i'm inclined not to get one is because i have pollenated the bottom branches with a bushy indica that ended up a male, and i'd rather not spread the pollen all throughout.

Hey bro! ZIKES!! That's hotter then hell in there it sounds like!!:fire: Your going to have to get that tempature under control big dog!! Marijuana grown indoors functions better at moderate temperatures between 70 and 75*F (21-23*C) during the light period!! High temps will cause elongated stems and airy roots! During flowering, it can. Also produce airy buds. Heat stress can also cause Hermaphrodites!!! :( And I read where you where worried about where you had polinated one of the lower branches. If its been atleast a few days, there's really no need to worry bro. Because the pollen is only viable for anywhere from 3 to 10 days! I would just nist the branch that is polinated with a fine mist of water, add another fan in to bring down the temp, because bro you don't want a

He/she like that in the pic do ya!?? ;)

Like danster Said thats hot, also check your PH in the soil, next time the soil drys out water the roots till you get run off, put something under the pot tocollect enough run off to checj the ppms and the ph. PPM shouldn't be over 800 if they are you are feeding to much, your PH should be 6.0 to 7.0 if it gets lower could mean over feeding is dropping the PH. Anyhow get your saw out and cut 2 more holes oppiste side of the fan holes, heat rises so put both PC fans at the top of your box sucking air out the top, the bottom should be left open to allow hot air to rise up to be exhausted by the fans. This is called the chimney effectCheck the temperature at the top bud should not go any higher than 85 f, Ideal is around 75 like Dankster mentioned, if you want to dial it in do it quick your buds should be putting on weight at week 5, use unsulfered molasses in the soil.

Thats definately way more Sativa than the White Widow, almost looks full on if it wasn't for the hint of skunky smell, you have a very sativa dominent hybrid, see if you can get your light temps down to 3000 Kelvin this will be ideal for the Sativa.

Peace

Right on bro!! "Sativa Dragon". wasn't to sure about the plant in question being a "White Widow". it really didn't look like any that I have grew out! But as you know there's a few dif breeders that have the Widow! Anyways, I'm sure it'll turn out just as good!!
