Hey guys! This is the first grow for my husband and me! We're pretty excited. I just wanted to share, see how everyone else's growing is going. I'd love to hear any tips or feedback!

One of our plants attached is a few weeks away from harvest (we think) and the other is just starting to really take off in flowering!

Just beware... Soon you will be more into growing than smoking the buds!! It's beyond addictive and amazingly fulfilling. Your further along plant(s) need more than just a few weeks still though. I would guess at least a 4 weeks/a month.

Anyhow, they look nice.. best of luck to you!! Hope your grows go great!

Plants are looking good for a first grow. Getting some nice sugar on them too.

Is that a layer of sand on top of the nice, well aerated soil the plants are growing in I hope? You should list stuff like soil, type of water you use, nutrients and lighting system so folks have a better Idea what you're doing and can give you better tips.

I'd clean up the grow space. Mine is cluttered but the floor is kept clean so bugs don't have any place to frolic near the plants. They like to do that then they move on up into the greenery and you're hooped.

Some drip pans under the pails is good too so when you water the pails real good all the runoff doesn't run off all over the floor and cause mold and mildew to grow and end up joining the bugs in the greenery.

Wish my wife shared my love of pot but she doesn't complain and has her chickens to look after so I don't want her messing around in my grow room in her chicken clothes anyway. :)

Good luck and great growing!

Nice looking herbage. Looks healthy. As mentioned above, cleanliness will keep junk off the frosty meds. Also, when we're green and just starting to learn herbal health care. We tend to overcare and rush the process. Like I did and drowned a plant. (Because it drooped and because I was lazy, I hadn't recorded the last water/fert. I later researched that roots had rotted sitting in the over watering I had blundered the first time and didn't catch this. The second watering finished it off. (WHY? No oxygen to the roots blocked out from water sitting in stagnant pot). Hence Hydroponics...supply oxygen to the roots= healthier herbage. I learned the lesson and now keep a callendar with daily notes. At the end of the plant's cycle these notes are condensed into the strain's "life journal".
The more you have to do...the more relaxing therapy you should recieve from your garden. And if the more you do and learn from the plant equates to the more therapy you reap and deosn't just get shipped out, COOL! ...In the end you get to test your skills on the end product.
Can you tell from the avatar that the therapy is working? The summer garden...roots, cabbage, lettuce, three types of tomato, cucumber, chard, herbs, garlic, beans, peas and more. That bin in the photo is aprox two gallon, the garden produced three of these just in tomatoes. Sobeys and Superstore veg? ...bahahahahahahha, I grow my own.
Grow well!

I'm not quite sure about all of the specifics. We were going to start out with hydroponics but ended up just going with soil. We used just the soil from outside, after doing a little research it's alluvium soil. Its also got a few hydroton pellets mixed in. As for water we just use the tap. For our nutes we used water soluble miracle grow all purpose in veg and miracle grow rose bloom for flowering. We've been flushing it for about 2 weeks. For our lights we have 1 hps bulb 6000 lumens, 5 incandescents 2155 lumens per bulb, and 2 T12 fluorescent bulbs. We are working on getting more hps bulbs to replace the rest.

Thanks everyone! They just keep looking better and better as the days pass. I'm excited to delve further into it. I know a lot cones with experience but we are getting there. :)
