Whats up everybody...this is my first attempt at growing medical marijuana and I have toy sa it has been shit tons of fun....it has seriously become like a fulltime hobby for me...I have learned TONS over the past few months...spent hours reading online forums and various books...I wanted to start a grow journal when i started the grow but between issues with my laptop and camera or lack of a decent one i should say held things up...anyways heres the low-down on my grow...i had been saving all kinds of bagseeds for a few months but only from the really really danky strains i was able to get my hands on...the funny thing about growing bagseed is for all i know i could be growing trainwreck or AK or White Widow and not even know it...of course I could also be growing some CaliCartel redbud schwag...but being that I am pretty close to harvest I am pretty sure that last one isn't a option judging by how my buds are turning out...anyways i used the paper towel method to pop about 40 seeds all of which i am pretty sure are all of the same strain...I would really really like to know what kind i am growing here and I know it is next to impossible for anybody to tell just by looking at pictures on here but if anyone thinks they have any ideas of what type it is please let me know...anyway of the roughly 30 seeds i popped about 3/4 sprouted and of those I ended up pulling out about 6 males...there may have been more males but i don't know cause I traded a few starts to my friends neighbor for a 5x5 plastic hyrdo tray to use for water collection so i don't have to move my plants for watering purposes..anyways...I vegged them under about 8 t-5 floro's for well over a month probably closer to two months cause i was waiting on my HID's to get here from Amazon...I recieved my lighting (2X400watt HPS/MH's) around the 12th of september and flipped them to 12/12 the next day....so right now I am like on day 52 of flowering for the 8 girls i ended up keeping and flowering out...a few weeks in i sprouted some more so i can have my own little perpetual system going..in the most recent pics you will see some of those newer/younger plants mixed in that I have been tossing into my flower room as they showed signs of being ready to flower..i also added some pics of my "nursery closet" where I am vegging for now...I ordered a 5x5 grow tent for vegging and I am gonna get one twice as big for flowering but wont be using those until after i harvest these first ones and move into my new rental house in a few weeks...Oh yea...i also had to move like a week into flower...that was a TOTAL nightmare...but these plants were SUPER hardy and didnt show one sign of stress or turn males or anything...i was pretty happy about that...anyways hope you all enjoy the pics of my everything so far...I will keep things updated as i move closer to harvest...look forward to hearing some feedback...be gentle everybody I am a total freakin' newbie to growing MMJ and posting on here...LOL...BTW the pics got all out of order when i uploaded them so sorry...

Looking good 22s! For being your first grow you sure dove in head first!

- Is that crushed limestones on top of your soil in those pots or chucks of perilte?
- Are you feeding with a fertilizer, or just relying on the soil alone?

One last thing I noticed you talked about moving into a rental home, that seems a bit risky don't you think? Landlord and all. I hope everything works out great man, BE CAREFULL!

Thanks for the reply BigFlats...yea you are right I for sure dove in head first...I have been growing veggies and what not for years so I knew I had the basic gardening skills needed to atleast get the seeds to break ground..lol..figured once i got my card and it was all legal might as well go all out...so i did...as far as the rocks...I used various crushed rock on the bottom for drainage and on top to help keep the water from displacing the soil to much and also(it was something i picked up on the forums here) it apparently allows the roots to grow all the way to the top maximizing my container size...from what i can tell it works when you move the rocks you can see roots right on top...kinda cool...as far a feeding goes I used just the soil the first few weeks then I started using Alaskan brand Fish emulsion/vitamin B1/ during Veg and added Alaskan brand MorBloom and Molasses during Flower...as far as the rental house is concerned you are 100% right on that and I wouldn't do it under normal circumstances but lucky for me the landlord is family so i think I am gonna me safe...plus the best part is the house is in like a commercial area..so no nieghbors...cant beat that! Either way, thanks for the concern thats why i love this site and the MMJ community in general, everyone is always lookin' out for eachother...

Keep Growing!

Nice... I want to say I read somewhere that limestone dust (ground up fine) either increases PH or decreases PH, have you heard this? Not that yours is all ground up an mixed just curious if you test PH?

I would be inclined to agree....remember reading something about it myself somewhere along the way these last few months...as far as PH goes...I was testing only the in-going water+nutes in the beginning but kinda lost interest after it never really fluctuated much and my plants stayed really healthy all the way through...besides the kit I was using couldn't test water with like soil in it....and that's before I found out about testing run-off water...anyway I am gonna order a Ph gun off Amazon they are pretty affordable cause your right, I am sure not watching my PH closer affected things like my yield....bongsmilie

I have never checked PH on 1.5 successes. If it's going good, just keep going.

Are you feeding by PPM's, or just measuring an amount?

Nice...so your in the middle of your second grow now?...and i guess your right if it aint broke dont fix it lol...besides i know lots of people would disagree but it is just a weed after all lol...I feed by measurements in teaspoons/tablespoons diluted into a gallon of water...pretty prehistoric i guess by some standards but it works for me...you have any pics of your grow up yet??

I use this: http://www.amazon.com/HM-Digital-TDS-EZ-Quality-Tester/dp/B00138S6WM

Comes in handy when something starts to go a bit bad, you can eliminate one possibility of too many nutrients or not enough. I'm not saying my ways better just sayin.
oh man...i need one of those...i bet that DOES come in handy...where I am temporarily staying has really bad hard water so i bought some 5 gallon water jugs and have been buying water from one of those reverse osmosis etc etc places...only costs a dollar a bottle to fill so no biggie...but i will be using tap again soon...so that little tool would be nice to have...

You can use most tap water. Just fill a big rubber bin up and let it sit open for two or so days. It evaps all the chloriene out. Always test the water and add that ppm value to your nute amount wanted. My tap water is between 200-250.

Right on, thats good to know.....have you heard/read anything about the negative effects, if any hard water has on plants..? cause thats really been my biggest concern here...
