First time grow. Any feedback or comments would be appreciated.

image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg Bigger plant is my Bruce which I just cleaned up today. Smaller is my platinum Girl Scout cookies which I also cleaned up and super cropped the main stem which was sticking up straight to the light and lst'd it to the pot. Bruce is almost 2 months in veg and the gsc is about 6 weeks.

No disrespect but they look skinny and frail to me. Especially to be two months old. What type of lighting are you using?

1000w metal halide. And the smaller one is gsc and is about 6 weeks and the clone was kinda fucked up when I got it so I had to do a lot to revive it. It had wpm pretty bad and a lot of the leaves were having deficiencies that I had to fix as well.

How meny oscillation fans you got. If it's just that little one I would upgrade...
My tent is 80cm square and 160cm high and I have a 15 inch fan for between lights and tops of the ladies, and 6 desk fan on the stems and top of soil. Like a hurricane in there and that thickens the stems too. Hope it helps

Two oscillating fans. And yes, I removed many leaves that weren't beneficial to allow more light and energy to other parts of the plants that needed it. That's what one of my buddies told me who grows occupational here In Colorado.

Just would like some feedback on my first grow. This is my Bruce banner and have a 5 plants under a 1000w MH lamp. Room is about 3.5-4ft wide X 4-5ft long and 9ft tall. Just trimmed a lot of the fan leaves off today to allow
Light in to a lot of spots. Just curious of what everyone thinks.

Looking good... My guess is most growers leave the fan leaves on unless they die... You might help the plant next time by cutting the fan leaves of sideways or in half...
Have fun!

I think defollating is an advanced technique that may be of some use to a flowering plant, but I just can't see the benefit of stripping a vegging plant heh.Just my opinion ofc.

To me , your plants have a thin phototropic look to them. How close to the plant canopy is your reflector ? Because those plants look like they are not getting enough light but that's just an opinion. Also, removing this many fan leaves and the LST thing can stunt your plants growth and even put them into shock. You should practice growing a plant healty from start to finish first and get that down before you experiment with more experienced practices. Bring your light down! Give them good nutrition and yes cal mag. Try to get those fans to really get those plants moving around and don't cut any more shit off of your plants. If you do this you will probably get a decent harvest. This is 8 plants under 1 1000 watt eye hortilux enhanced blue Mh. Their environment is a 6x6x8 plywood box, short squat and fat and they were only topped twice.Screenshot_2015-11-23-00-00-46.png

They look naked. I would let the plant decide what leaves are beneficial and what's not. Defoliation is debated on this forum all the time. Half say it increases yield and half says it hurts it, but most will agree its not a technique for first time growers. They look good though, nice and green, no nute burn or deficiencys that I can see. Your off to a good start, just keep doin what your doin except making a dozen threads about the same thing, ones good. happy growin.

Agreed, lollipoping before flower is unnecessary and will hinder root growth.

I can understand getting the ladies off the dirt, but I think your over doing it quite a bit.

Nice side growth! Plants look happy.

I agree with Resinhound. Even once in flower, don't go too crazy on the fan leaves. They do serve a purpose right on through harvest. But you totally have the right idea (getting light to more areas.) Happy medium all the way. One thing I do personally, while in flower, is I trim blades instead of entire leaves whenever possible. Big middle finger blocking a bud? Why get rid of the whole hand?
