Hi all, I am new here and already have my project started. So, I currently have 2 Skunk Clones that I have started. What I am trying to do is grow these into mothers. Since this is my first time I decided to go Soil as suggested.

Currently my soil mix is broken down to 50/50 Foxfarm Oceanforrest / Light Warrior.

I started the 2 Clones in cups and once they were big enough decided to move them to 5 Gallon Buckets

Nutrients - I went with the General Hydroponics brand... (not because I wanted to but because this is my second attempt these are the nutes I had available.)

The temp is pretty stable in the tent it stays roughly around 77 degrees.

I also have a humidifier in the tent to keep the RH at 55-65.

Basically so far what I have done is start the plants without the lightforrest in cups than once they were root bound I transplanted them into the 5 Gal buckets with the 50/50 mix of lightwarrior and ocean forrest and of course a layer of hydroton at the bottom of the buckets. After 2 weeks I noticed yellowing and alot of leaves beginning to discolor and fall off so I mixed a light nutrient mix (280ppm) and I watered each plant. I only feed the plants nutes every other time I water them other than that I use bottled reverse osmosis water. and since the first time I have given them nutes I have increased the nutes to about (500 ppm).

The Bad: plants are yellowwinggg!!! and I still cant figure out why? any suggestions help anyone that may be a bit more experienced??

Well look it first started when the plant was rootbound.. but after I transplanted them it just continued to get worst. Today I watered them with 480ppm water and 6.5ph and the run off came out at 7.0ph. I have exactly General Hydroponics Flora Series (Micro, Gro, Bloom) Nutrients with a 50/50 of Foxfarm Oceanforrest and Lightwarrior and Superthrive (one drop per gallon). So what could it be? I mean another thing I forgot to mention was that before I had transplanted the plants they were in a 1 gal cut water jug with only Foxfarm Oceanforrest and when I transplanted them I mixed the Lightwarrior and the Oceanforrest together and then I cut the root mass out of the 1 gal jug and transplanted them in the mixture could that be the problem? Is it a shock? Someoneee Hellllppp!! lol

Is there a shock when you switch the lights on a plant because I started these on fluro and then I was able to change the lighting to a 400w MH could that be why it is struggling?

I think that pHing the water will definitely help. Another thing to consider is how often you're watering these guys. It's a big move from a cup to 5 gallons, and 5 gallons can hold a lot of moisture for a long time. You need to take the advice a wise man once told me and spend 8 bucks on a soil moisture meter at your local garden store. It will tell you the dampness of the soil several centimeters down at root level and you can avoid drowning your plants. How often have you been watering and how much?

My first thought was: you've over radiated your plants.

Upon closer inspection I am not sure. :lol:

Where did this start on the plant? Top, middle, bottom?
What part of the leaf was affected first? The tips?
When did this start? "after 2 weeks"? How long since then?

I want to say "Thank you" alot for the responses...

Krawhitham - I will be getting the moisture meter very soon to check whats going on down there. and Also I have been watering about once a week with nutrients than without. What exactly do you mean by Phing the water do you mean using PH Down?

TeaTreeOil - It started on the top of each plant and kind of worked its way down, It started yellowing and the tips started burning and it started showing signs of necrosis. It started about a week after I got them in the cups and March 15 I transplanted to the 5 gal pots.. And they have only gotten worse and kind of stunted...

So if anyone else has any advice or any suggestions and is experienced feel free to let me know what you think!!!

Sounds like you're doing everything right, but over-watering. It's hard to say from the other end of the world though. You need to soak the soil one time, then let it dry out quite a bit. Water weighs 8lbs/gallon and peat holds a lot of water and with the low-dose feedings you're giving, might want to be giving nutrients at every watering since you're half Light Warrior. Drop to like .5- .7 EC, but every time, you know?

Anyone heard of the Hydrofram Habitat 33 Tent? is it PVC? does anyone know because someone in my other thread mentioned PVC poisoning..

Yessir. Pull the tent and that should cure you. Hydrofarm wasn't originally admitting to it, but from what I have heard and read they have PVC tents and they cause your plants to exhibit characteristics of pH problems. My buddy had one, and his plants went the same route as yours are. When he pulled the tent, several died but we saved a few. Flush your soil and let it dry out then give them a feeding of nutes next time around.

I am told that Homebox is the only brand to not have a problem yet, but cannot confirm this.

Secret Jardin, Im told, bases their whole product scheme on "our tents aren't poisonous". Give either a try.

just a quick reply bout your problem...I grow in light warrior and ocean forest mix and use gen hydro nutes as well...I can only agree with the tent theory...even though the nutes are for hydro they work just fine in soil. damn shame man. starting to look good too

Already Pulled The Tent!!! Lol Immediately after reading your guys post I already have them moved and hopefully undergoing some rehab! I will post pics soon of new set up! This is my second attempt at a grow the first time I got a bit far with hydro but now I know it was the tent that killed my damn plants! lol Jesus I would have never thought they would have made a fucking "Grow Tent" that can't "Grow Shit"! =/ Big Faillll... but anyways I will be posting pics shortly of the new "habitat". Thank You guys alot for the input I have been stuck on this step for about 4 months stumped wondering what the fuck it is that was fucking the plants up now I am pretty sure that it is the tent.

I don't know how much luck you will have considering what youre growing, but you could try writing the company and let them know they killed all your precious "heirloom" tomatoes.!?
