first time grow 600w hps cheese and lemon skunk *pics*

i have been smoking for over a decade and decided it is finally time to have a go at growing.

this is my first ever grow, looking for advice and feedback. any help would be very much appreciated.



over the years i have smoked dome really bad bud. i'm sick of; the annual droughts, the "sprayed weed fiasco", the 1.5g (if you're lucky) £20 bags and last but by no means least the "i'll be ten minutes" dealers.

what i'm looking for is enough to satisfy my 1+ oz a week habit, i love the idea that after my first harvest all my gear has pretty much payed for itself. so lets get on with the growing and see if i can grow better stuff than i have smoking for so long.

started out hwith some cuttings from a friend:

3x exodus cheese (my fav all rounder)

3x lemon skunk (bigger yielder)

i only started this thread weeks into flowering, so no pics of babies.
i also posted it in the wrong section too i think (oh well better luck next time eh)

i lst'd the two big lemon skunks, topped them and tried fimming too (not sure it worked properly). i'm sure you'll agree though they are gonna yield plenty of prime bud! also lollipopped at week 3 so as to not get any popcorn bud.

other four i just topped so unfortunately they won't give me as much

1.2x1.2x2m grow tent

back row are lemon skunk,
middle 3 are the cheese,
front one is lemon skunk again.

i am growing in coco for the back 5 plants,
the one at the front is in a 20%coco%80 potting soil (peat,loam,perlite,etc)

wow that was fast luke, lol. thanks for reading anyway, been looking at this site for a while now and hopefully i have learnt enough to get some nice bud.

i have had a few problems already (mainly heat) took these pics this morning and you can see how high the temp is already.
i have managed to keep temps down as much as possible with the help of a trusty ac unit and by adding an intake fan.
extraction is a 6" rvk with carbon filter and i have two oscillating fans for nice circulation. (loving the diy botch job with coat hangers and string)

that really looks like a cool little setup u got there, wiv some lovley plants,hope u dont mind me askin u a straight Q rather than goin thru ons of stickies i got 5 arjans plants that are in week 3 of flowering , there stretchy as fuck an wonderd if there was anything i could do at this stage to stop me from endin up with popcorn budds like i did with the mother,

check out these two suckas (lemon skunk), definately doing this on my next grow. it was my own little method of lst, the one i saw on riu (spiral effect) takes a lot longer.
just tied all the branches down so they were equally high and every time one grew higher i tied it down again. i cut the string on week 2 of 12/12 and they have all pretty much stayed the same height, one of them has about 13 decent heads. (gutted i didn't do that with the cheese)

tbh i don't have much experience with the plant you talk about.
i know its a haze and hazes love to stretch, you could take advantage of this by trying to train it around the pot.
lollipopping is where you cut off all lower branches or any low bud sights where the plants energy will be wasted trying to produce flowers. this sends more nutrients to the "heads".
you could also be harvesting the plant prematurely, i think that plant is a looooooong flowerer, so be patient and i'm pretty sure you will sort something out. i hope i helped you in some small way

just started using atami bloombastic, guy in the hydro shop swears by it and even says you don't need to use pk13/14 when using ( too late for that lol) lets see how much these buds swell in the last 4 weeks of flower. i used my dog as a reference, here is a before shot

yeah great help many thanks, will definatly start trainin the babies i got now, yeah i did crop early wiv the mother, she startd sprouting stems from the main cole until it grew out into just leaves , so as soon as the others startd doin it i cut it down, hope my ohers dont do the same!!

would anybody like to hazard a guess at how much i can expect to harvest off this lemon skunk? 4 weeks into flower and i've used pk13/14 and just started using atami bloombastic.
lst'd, topped, fimmed, lollipopped and supercropped it, there is still plenty of room for growth on these buds though.

maybe i should have used one for intake and one for extraction.



150w cfl 6500k with my homemade coathanger/tin foil reflector hood



heres my babies been overwatering seedlings so gonna back off for the time being,
got: 1 greenhouse seeds super lemon haze (seedling)
1 greenhouse seeds cheese (seedling)
1 barneys blue cheese (seedling)
1 lemon skunk (cutting)
1 uk cheese (cutting)

the last two are taken from whats in my flowering tent atm.


got 4 x 23w 2700k cfls on standby too, temps are just too high to use them atm (on24/0)
i rigged up a shoebox/ducting conversion to my ac unit so it fits snug into the intake hole but it just isnt practical enough to use all the time.(maybe just need a decent intake fan)



anyone think intake fan will help?
the two fans pull quite a lot of air through the cabinet already, any suggestions would help.

you'd get at the very least 3 oz's but i'd agree with 5+... i've got a LS myself, i've been vegging for 6 weeks and i've only LSTed her, right now i have about 6-8 shoots that are turning into vigorous tops, i think i might veg for a total of 3 months. either way, keep up the great work!

3 month veg would be monstrous! i wish i had the time and patience to do it that long, only reason i got it so bushy was due to lack of a hps lamp. from now on i will be vegging for no more than 4 weeks. my plant just smells so lemony, its an original pheno i think. haven't smoked any yet but can't wait. how's the smoke?

when i said 5+, that really was hazardin a guess ghb, last night i was lookin at some ones grow( can remember whos, sorry) but they had lst an supercropd
an they ended up with 10+ wich lookd truly awsome!! so lets just wait an see!!

gonna post more pics later when the light goes out, i swear they have nearly doubled since sunday. i'm starting to think 5oz might just be possible. i like the bloombastic so far.

sounds like i should be getting meself some of that BLOOM!bastic! haha! wot u now, 4.5 weeks into flower? how long u gona flower them? an wot will u flush wiv? straigh water? or canna flush or somthing else?

i'll just flower them til i think they are done, maybe feed another couple of weeks then flush. havent got that far yet, probly just use water. check how much they have grown in 3 days with two feeds of bloombastic,gonna post the cheese pics later. gonna be a hard few weeks, major drought on round here and i am drooling over the cheese.
