but yeah once you get your hydro setup and get a good drain/fill plan down with a hose and a pump, it's a lot less work then soil. A timer waters my plants...basically hydro can be more automated, but you could do top drip soil to so there's 100 ways to skin a cat.

Hmmm.. Tell me more about this automated hydro setup. I might just build a DWC for 2 plants. Would 5 gallons be enough for 2 plants? Could I yield 2-4oz a plant in that res or would they be fighting for nutes? Trying to look for a kit right now and making plans. Any help would be appreciated +REP.

If you go to small on your res It'll just make things harder for you, youll have to constantly be checking the pH and ppm's in a smaller res. I think 5 gallons per plant would be ideal for two big plants, but you could do 5gallons for 2 is you had small plants. So bigger is better, except you waist a bit more with bigger res when you change out the nutes every couple weeks.

I'm kinda just making these numbers up btw based on what I've been seeing online, But consider this... Each of my plants that are still in veg are drinking 1 gallon a day... Which means with a 5 gallon res to one of these plants I would need to top up every day, where-as with a 10gallon res to one of these plant I could probably go 2 days maybe 3.

hmm whats this about conditioning rockwool? I thought it was already perfectly read to go?

there are some fairly inexpensive compact DWC setups. You can get a Waterfarm setup from Hydrofarm which i use and would recommend to anyone

They're lookin' real cheesy. Def get rid of all the yellow leaves at this point because the plant isn't really using them. It's just wasted energy.

Don't know. What do you think? It seems like a lot of people do and a lot of people don't. Some do a dark period for 2-4 days while flushing, some don't. Being my first grow, I really don't know. How long did you flush for and did you do a dark period? How many more weeks do they look like they can go? Thanks for the help pickle.

I'm still in my first grow dude.
I've read alot of different oppinions on flushing and it sounds like it isnt absolutely neccessary unless you've been over feeding your plants, in which case it can help. You sacrafice some yield when you do a flush because you slow down the growth of the plant. You'll have to decide for yourself if you want to flush or not.

I don't plan to do a 100% flush, but I do plan to cut the feed down to quarter strength during the last week using bottled water(instead of the tap water I use now).
I don't plan to do a dark period

The most accurate way to tell if the plants are ready for harvest is to look at the trichs and guage the ratio of milky to amber trichs.
When you get the ratio you want then you are ready to harvest
The ratio you want will be determined by what kindof high your looking for, if you want to get more stoned/body high then harvest with more amber, if you want a clear mental high then harvest when only a few amber trichs are visible.

Because you are growing an indica dominant strain, it is unlikely you will be able to get a perfectly clear mental high/without the body stone effect even if you harvest with few amber trichs.

Yeah if you are seeing amber already I would be prepping to cut. A few of the pics I still see a lot of white pistils tho. Since ur doing bagseed they will likely all be done at different times. Things that indicate harvest time are trichs turning from milky to amber, pistils turning orange and receding, and calyxs/buds swelling. If you like a heavy body stone, let them go longer and get more amber, if you prefer a more racy up high cut earlier with less amber. Most people cut when 10% or so are amber and most of them are milky.

I think timing the flush/harvest takes eperience and intuition, especially if your trying to go for the 10% or less amber harvest.

They look too early to chop, but you could probably start cutting back nutes.

But also I have never harvested anything before... and I'm only looking at pictures.
You'll be able to better guage things from your end

You could definitely keep going for another 2 weeks. Give her some molasses, she'll love it. 2-3 tablespoons a gallon.
