First Time DWC

Hey this is my first attempt at DWC. This is what i'm using.

600w HID MH

it about 4x6 about 8ft tall

Sour Diesel x Big Bud

Canna nuts Canna A and B. Canna rhizotonic

Well i wasn't sure if i should start counting days from since i germinated the seeds or should i start counting days from when i planted into the DWC.

Well the first picture is the first day i planted in the DWC and the rest are 1 week later. what you guys think??

Looks great.. keep it up. If anything some are showing a bit of wrinkle or bubble in the leaf, meaning that you're really pushing the EC on the feeding. Might want to back it down just a bit, but that is my opinion.

Thanks, it is at about 1200 ppm. I was just going off of what the canna nuts says. How much ppm do you set yours at?

WOW thats a shit ton mate.

You should be going quarter strength of what the bottle recommends at this point.

I would be using .6EC right now, which on my meter is 300ppm. Use EC as its universal. PPM is different with different brand meters as they all use a different conversion factor.

Just keep PH at 5.8 and get an HPS light for flowering.

It looks good though, surprising for how much you're feeding them. Surprised they're not burnt.

Got the hps bulb. I know this is a question that is kind of dumb but you think I can yield 4 to 6 Oz if each plant if i veg for 6 Weeks? Do you guys prefer topping or not?

I top. You can top them the size they are now.

My first DWC grow I got 11oz off 4 plants. One yielded 4oz topped, the rest were under. These were 1.5 foot when brought to flower and vegged for like 8 weeks.

Yeah i'm hoping for about 16Oz for all 4 but we will see. I never top a plant before. What were your experience with it? Did it make the whole plant more bushy?

Its possible. I got 4 ounce my first try, but that plant was a beast. Check my signature and go to page 35 and check out the 2nd post day 53 fruity chronic juice. I topped her and she bushed out crazy. Those pictures don't fully do her justice as she was about 4 feet wide by 4 feet tall straight bush.

I could have clipped off the bud sites on the lower part of the plant that didn't get much light(EDIT: called lollipopping, like legally was saying), thus only resulted in small popcorn bud. If I did that it would of packed more bud on the top which would of gotten more light and thus gotten beefier than those bottom nugs. But I wasn't too sure on what I was doing so I didn't. I am this grow, but different strains so I won't be able to definitively say it helped, but the general consensus is it does.

The smallest yield was 2oz and it was from a tiny plant that was far away from the light. Was planted a few weeks after the others and thus didn't veg as long so was half the height being brought in.

A. Shit ton of nutrients.. but it seems you got that info already. I would MAX out around 1200-1300 in week 5-6, then rapidly decrease from there. Or at least that is my numbers given DM nutrietns.

B. I really dig topping, I let them get about 5 nodes then chop them back down to three. Depends on the plant really, I like to get them up and growing and really start chugging before I top them, they just seem to rebound quicker.

C. I would bet you will haul around 12-13 oz total.

D. When you start scrogging and topping and creating bushes... its ALL about the lollipop. Seriously, this is probably one of the most important things you will master over time.. how much understory should you take out. With a 600w HPS, your really only getting decent light to the first 1' of the plant. All that shit on the bottom of the plant is just a waste of carbohydrates.

Plants look great though. I am truely baffled as to why they are not completely burnt to a crisp with that high of PPM.

You can just remove the growing tip with your fingers and avoid all the loss in progress by cutting down nodes the uncle ben way.

What I do is I fold down the top leaves(new leaves will normally be pointing upwards, so must be folded down to see the node inside that) that node is the growing tip. You can just get that between your fingers and snap it back and it just pops off pretty much.

The plant will then send hormones to the breakage site and start growing what would have been branches as the main tops now. You can then top those if you want.

If you're doing supplemental co2 and an undercurrent system with a 1000w then yeah you can get 8oz all day. A nicely done scrog with co2 could probably get 8oz in a DWC setup.

Even if you get 4 oz per plant thats 16oz and .75grams per watt. Which isn't bad.

You won't get near that in soil. My friends first soil grow he was getting oz per plant, sometimes less. I more than doubled his output on my first grow with hydro.

Yeah I already like it more then soil. I use to get about 2Oz a plant off of soil. I truly think its easier than soil also

What nutrients do you guys prefer? Have you guys ever tried canna aqua nutrients?

8 oz per would be 32 oz...off a single 600. Never going to happen. Even 16 is going to be hard. And I am talking about good solid, high quality buds. Not all that popcorn shit that everyone weighs to try and inflate their yield.

i would say 6 oz per plant, and thats if they go threw the whole cycle without a screw up. it would also depend on the strain you have going at the moment. right now i got 4 buckets going right now, 2 shackzillas and 2 tahoes. the 2 shacks were vegged for about 4 to 5 wks. there in week 5 and i think by next week im gonna have to start to tie them up, buds are getting to heavy. youll be fine. the second time you'll be even better

HOPEFULLY all this money that i am spending on my nutrients and additives are worth it! i didn't want to get a 1000w because the space is way to small and it would get way to hot in there. Ill post more pictures in a couple of days. Canna rhizotonic works really good, 1st week and the roots are sprounting like crazy into the bucket!

Your space of a 4x6 is actually too big for a 600w. I mean it will work cause I use mine for a 6x6 area, only because my plants are huge though, next grow they wont be. I got the light for a 4x4 area.

I use Ionic nutrients. But Canna is just as good, more money though. I'm going to make the switch to Canna or H&G, probably H&G as thats what my hydro carries.
