Day 21 update: Did my second lst today and the ladies (hopefully) are looking good. Think they are pretty decent plants for their age and considering I am a first time grower. Still cant figure out why they are smelling so skunky and hopefully it is not a bad sign. Lol seems weird saying that but apparently from what I know they dont smell until flowering. Here they are:

just wanted to throw this out there, my sprout started smelling very early as well, had very faint scent at 1 week from breaking soil, and a more obvious scent at 2 weeks. Its almost 2 and half weeks old now and has 3 nodes. the leaves also have tiny white beads that look like really small trichomes, hope this just means its going to be a dank plant. Strain is my friends personal phenotype of OG Kush that he has been cloning for years.

Thanks alot, I am really surprised by what I have been able to do so far. I fear the next step is going to be much harder. I do not have any local ( even within 150 miles) grow stores so I am worried about nutes for flowering. is there a good alternative to the commonly suggested nutes ( big bloom....etc)? I have walmart nearby but I do want to give something to my babies that they are going to thrive on. Was thinking about starting flowering at 35 days. 14 days from now at up-to-date growth rate? Would that be a good decision?

Wow that is even earlier than mine! I did not notice an odor until about 14 or 15 days into veg after breaking soil. I cant wait until i get to the budding stage and see what these strong looking young plants can create. I sure hope for a successful grow since I have put so much into researching and analyzing. What i did was gather all the information posssible and combine it into what seemed the best from all the different sources. Seems to be working so far....Im so impatient, cannot wait to see some buds!!! Haha who would ever try to make this wonderful, natural, amazing plant against the law????

ahaha i know what you mean with the impatient thing, sometimes i find myself just staring at my sprout waiting for it to grow. I agree with combine the best info from bunch of different sources, thats what im doin. I am planning on starting my own journal if I can get my paws on a camera, just transplanted my baby to a bigger pot yesterday so now would be a good time to start

Ok quick question: I have four plants going to veg today with 2 4ft. T8 fluoros, should I just leave the light on 24/7?

Did the third lst today and plan on doing 2 more one on day 27 and one on day 30. Plan on topping on day 32 and then put on 12/12 on day 35. Hopefully these are both ladies and can produce a good yield. Does this look like an ok schedule?
Here are the pics from today:

o and wanted to add something.... whats the best way to go about the fan leaves? They are really seeming to get in the way of the smaller branches and i am worried about them getting enough light. should i trim some of the fan leaves off or let them be while in veg?

Nah bro that's new growth, and as for the fan leafs just keep em on man the shoots will grow past them eventually. The fan leafs store energy for the plant and cutting them off would remove that energy. Your plants look great man and mine started smelling around the second week as well.. really deep skunk smell, even skunkier than they do now(14 days into flowering) now they kind smell like white chocolate mocha from starbucks lol. Anyways man keep it up, hope they turn out to be ladies!

Edit: you will start to see signs of sex(small white hairs coming out of tear shaped growths on the nodes) during flowering when you switch the lights to 12/12. Depending on the maturity of the plant it could be anywhere from 1(like mine) to upwards of 20 days after 12/12.

I love white chocolate mochas...

Anyways you can see preflowers develop in veg when the plant is mature. Usually around 3-4 weeks.. I may have already spotted a few on mine at its only 2.3 weeks from breaking soil.

ah very true Zenith! I forgot to mention the female/male parts can be seen if the plant is mature enough in veg, but a little over 2 weeks man that's awesome.
