I would say it looks like a nutrient burn.

I am a noob to this but I was in the same boat about a week ago. I also have a bubbleponics kit + dripper.

I got over anxious and added the nutrients from Fox Farm as prescribed. I almost lost all nine of my girls. Then I decided to take drain my resivour and just use ph balanced water with no nutrients.

I added about a quarter of the nutrients on the start of week 3 and the girls love it.

I've read a good ph balance is betweeen 5.5-6.5. I like to keep mine at 6.0

look burned to me. how strong is your nutrient solution? for that size and the problems your having you should be on straight ph'd water or 1/4 strenght nutes.

if its covered in slime they will die. I had the problem in the past with a DWC and it almost killed everything. Looks like the cause was from advanced nutrients powder big bud. My last grow was a bitch trying to figure it out. i ended up going to soil and different nutrients just to make sure I had some meds coming in. Once that was running I set up the DWC again. Everything was fine with just the base A/B nutrients but when I added the big bud all hell broke loose. I watched a few days as the roots started to look like yours and then just get mushy. I ended cutting them all off at the bottom of the net pot then just plain tap water for a week or so. I hand watered as I dont bother with the pump. I just take a few cups out of the res and dump it from the top 2 or 3 times a day. In a few days new roots were growing and looking great. They really came on in the next week or so and the plants ate doing great. The buds are twice as fat as the ones in soil even though they are 3 wks behind them and had all the roots cut off. Ill be switching back to all DWC my next round for sure.

it is an indication of root rot, algea or fungus in the res. to fix it start with 1 tsp of peroxide per gal of water. back to the question what temp do you keep your res at. over 72 is asking for problems. If caught early enough hygrozyme works & will help prevent further issues. I have two plants now that i am discarding after a month of trying to fix them from root problems,

its around 75... even tho i cool it down by puting ice in ziplock bags into it, the temperature always rises.. what can i do to fix the problem, and keep it cooler?

you could buy a chiller, make a chiller, or add the ice more frequently. Coolers make great dwc tanks, ice last's longer, if you cover your lid with the bubble reflective material that works wonders.

Hey Wise... The peroxide soultion...Do you add that into the res even though the plants are inside and let it drip on the plants?

no need to cut those roots just yet, put some peroxide in there, give them a rinse in cool tap water, not cold, the chlorine will help kill any fungus on them, only cut them when they are mushy black and brown. I think it is early enough that you will be ok.
