First Super Soil Grow Issues

First time using super soil and main-lining, and up until this point, I haven't had any issues. My girl has developed the claw and now showing signs of what I believe to be a Phosphorus deficiency. I was hoping to see if someone might be able to confirm my suspicions and hopefully suggest a treatment. I am guessing she is starting to run out of food and needs to be supplemented.

Strain: TGA AOS
Age: 74 Days
Flower: 22 Days
Container: 3 Gallon Oregon Breather
Soil: 35% SS 65% Roots Organic
Water: PH corrected down to 6.3-6.5 with Earth Juice
Lights: 6 2700k CFL's
Temp: Day - 79 Night - 68

they look light green almost like a nitrogen deficiency.

my 2¢ not 100% sure though. nice mailine though!!

oh and the claw, are the leaves close to the light? thinking it might be heat stress or something them CFL do get fairly hot close up. And it seems the "claw" only on the tallest node and the shorter ones seem fine.

Looks more like a light/heat stress from the clawing at the top.

You shouldn't really feel the need to be PHing your water unless it is astronomically high(over 7). Sometimes the buildup of excess salts even from the EJ PH+/- line can cause buildup around the rhizosphere, effectively creating lockouts, among other issues, over time.

If you wqant a quick solution to your problem, this is what I would do if it were my garden:

1. Water till you see runoff.
2. Add a top layer of super soil, atleast an inch or two deep.
3. Add dolomite lime to the top. Add in Mychorrizal fungus with this top layer.
4. Water in with a high quality AACT.


Let dry out, and have a fan blowing over your ladies throughout this process.

This should fix your issues. Oh, and if it is light/heat related, move your light further away.

My tap water usually comes out around a 8.5-8.8. and so I was PHing down to 7. I was still getting problems so I PHed it down to 6.5 and haven't had any problems till now. Should I go back up to 7?

I will go ahead and add a top layer of SS, and see if I can go find some dolomite at one of the garden stores. I've never brewed up a AACT, so I'll start researching a recipe that fits my small needs. Thanks again.

theres also some really good sticky's in the organic part of this site. basically a AACT is just super populating microbes into the super soil so the microbes can break down the goodies in the soil and make them available to the plant.
its also extremely cheap and easy to brew AACT's 20 bucks and you can brew up 20 teas. molasses (unsulfered 4$) pantyhoes (wal mart 50¢ for 2, buy 10 pairs for 5 bucks) a bag of worm castings (5$) and a air pump and airstone (6$) you will also need a bucket but i fig most growers have a bucket lying around. and if you want to make the added investment you can buy other ammendments to the tea such as high N or P guanno depending on what stage of growth your in. and the great thing is about the teas is when your done with the worm casting you can add them to your super soil for a nice ammendment full of benificial microbes. only thing you will have to throw out is the pantyhoes and you could even re use them if you so desire.

Hey Sevren, are you PH'ing after you add nutes or before?? If you are testing PH before you add nutes then you are going to run into a problem there as well. Once you add nutes, you PH is going to change a bit depending on what nutes you use and could make the solution very acidic.

Thanks for the additional information on the AACT. Simple is always better in my opinion.

And Yes I PH my water before adding anything to it. Except with Super Soil, I've just been adding water, nothing else. I've been trying to avoid adding anything else if I could help it. And it looks like I've hit that wall.

I would bet a million dollars that that is too much moisture on a consistent basis. Let the plant dry out really well, and then water it. Your leaves will not "bounce back" to looking normal, but healthy leaves will not continue to curl like that if you back off on watering so frequently.

EDIT: Actually, after looking back over the details, its probably a combo of overwatered and pH of the water being too high.
