First Stealth PC grow|CFL/LED|128Watts

So to start things off..

This is my first ever grow. The only reasonable way that I am able to grow at the moment is in a PC case.. so thats how its going to be! I have been lurking around the threads for a while now taking notes and figuring out the best possible way to come about growing in this small space.

I have a medium sized PC case that I lined with cardboard and mylar. Using a passive intake and a single 80mm exhaust fan at the moment. I also have a single fan suspended in the top right corner that I am hoping will circulate the air better as well as rustle my baby's leaves somewhat. I have two 20W 6500k CFLs and one 14W 2700k CFL at the moment. Also accompanying them I have a 5 meter 72w 5050 SMD cool white LED that is kinda just placed around the case in every which way.. just trying to get as much light as i can in there. For the soil I am using fox farm ocean forest and for nutrients i have general hydroponics flora serious that i plan to use once my girl is a little bigger.

I germinated last week and planted her a couple days ago, since then she has sprouted and has started to develop some of her leaves.

One thing that i have a concern about is the humidity... it is usually only around 26% but the high on my meter says that it has reached up to 59% but never once have i opened the case and it has been that high. I have placed a container of water in there hoping to bring it up, but it hasn't increased much, but the water is obviously evaporating

Thats it for now! hope some of you guys can help me along the way and give me some pointers as this is my first ever grow!

Toke on!!

Alright, so little update. She's had a little more growth and more leaves are starting to develop. I also raised the dirt up in the pot so i could properly LST when the time comes.

Another concern that i have is that when i place the thermometer in the soil next to my girl, it reads a temp of 104 F. But it doesnt feel that hot at all when i place my hand next to my girl for a while. Ive included some more pictures of my set up and hopefully someone can give my an opinion on what to do. I feel like it is hindering the growth because she has been above the surface for more than a week and she is still pretty small  any help or suggestions would be appreciated. thanks!

This is the passive intake

exhaust fan. the top one is only running at the moment as the pot is in the way of the bottom one..

That's a Compucase 6A19 PC case isn't it? I've got two of those as grow boxes right now.. awesome cases and very easy to convert to grow boxes.

About the heat, can you get a different thermometer? Maybe yours isn't calibrated? I'm running two exhausts in both my cases, 1 120mm in it's designated slot and 1 80mm in the spot where the power supply use to be. I also run an active 120mm intake. I've got 4 25-30w CFL bulbs in each case. Temps are around 3-5 Celsius above room temp.

The picture of the plant is a little bit far away but looks like a normal size for 1 week.. seedling stage is a bitch. As someone here said in another post, it's like watching paint dry. Should start growing way faster at around 2 weeks old.

Yeah its the 6A19!! it was pretty easy to set up and i feel like it has quite a bit of room :) I think i might try to trim down the tray that is blocking the fan so i can get that one spinning.. and maybe add in intake fan.. we'll see. ill run some trails later! And since we have the same case.. what have you done for the smell? Im looking further down the road.. so far i have made a carbon filter out of the pencil cups. But with my temps being so high, I feel like adding that will increase the temps even more! Ill just keep on going and hopefully she takes off soon!!

Yeah I found that a carbon filter makes it too hot for the summer temps around here... I could use it but then I'd have to remove some lights. I'm using scented candles around the area when people come over. You can use ONA block if you dig the smell.. dryer sheets work quite well, or incense.

Should I lower her farther from the lights? or is it good where it is at now?

Hey mate you're looking great!

She's bushy, if you like to keep her this way, leave her close to the lights, if not, just lower her a couple o' inches!

Cheers!

Shes looking good. You should get some dank buds in there. Mind me asking the pc measurements?

The one picture looks like her tips are curling a bit. Did you ever get another thermometer? I have 2 120mm fans for exaust on the top and end of my light and 1 140mm and another 120mm for forced cool air intake. My temps havent gone above 83f with a 125w bulb. Its all about the air flow especially in smaller spaces with the most amount of light. Also the cooler you can get it the closer you can have your lights. Might be worth investing in some fans

Edit.. subbed for the ride.

@John The case is 16x8x20. I have yet to get another thermometer, but when i place my hand right above the plants for 10 sec it does not get hot at all, and i can feel cool air being blown around. So Im just going to leave the fans the way they are and maybe add an intake fan when she's a little bigger. Some tips on some of the leaves are kind of kinked up towards the lights. But then some are kinked down as well... most of the leaves look as if they are reaching towards the lights and not very droopy.

Thanks for checking it out!!
