Hi all ive only just joined this site so please go easy on me.
im looking at starting a small grow in box or small set of drawers.im favouring the cfl route of lighting probly 3 x 40w (100w equivilant) bulbs fixed to a board (need advice on the actual wiring of that).im gona be growing in pots with soil.ive got a usb fan tray thingy that normaly sits under my xbox to keep it cool.ive looked and i can remove the fans so i thought i could use 1 at the bottom of box for inlet and 2 at top for exhaust.its usb so i can plug it straight in to a usb plug adaptor thingy that ive also hijacked....so...what do you think?????.
Forgot to say im gona be doingit with the scrog method.
so any advice you have would be much needed as im a noob to all this.ive done plenty of research since the missus gave the green light.
so fingers crossed ill keep you posted..

thanks

Show pics of your board, and I will explain how to wire it.

You've got ventilation right... heat gets expelled at the top, cool air is brought in at the bottom. Also, your intake should be less than exhaust as you've stated; the purpose of this is to ensure that if there are any air leaks, it leaks *inwards*.

Welcome to RIU, and happy building and growing! :)

Your incoming black wire shall connect to the black wires coming out of your lamp holders, and likewise with white. You may need a piece of jumper wire in between each holder.

This is called a parallel circuit, and if one bulb fails, the rest will still work. You will need what are called marettes (or wire connectors) to make the connections.

Use orange marettes for connections with only two wires, and yellow for connections with three.

If you need more guidance, just ask and I'll draw you a picture.
