First set of clones.

What up RIU! I I just got done cloning for the first time today. I used a clean blade cut leave tips off and cut a 45 degree angle, then cut up the stem a little bit to promote root growth. I then dipped them in clonex and put them in rapid rooter plugs in a dome under 1 20w cfl.

I do damn near the same thing, but I let my heat mat warm up the dome for a few hours first. When I see it covered in condensation and the humidity is 90% or higher I take my clones. 100% success using this method with roots showing 5-7 days later. Before I got my heat mat it would be a 7-14 day wait for roots. It seems they like the higher temps and high stable humidity.

Im having troubles keeping the RH up idk what im doing wrong. The dome is sealed and I mist the inside of it wit water to try and help. Should I use a heat mat? What type of heat matt should I use. Would a normal heating pad work if I keep it on low?

A heat mat warming your tray will cause more water to evaporate faster and fill the dome with humidity. As a general rule for each 10 degree C increase you have, water evaporates twice as fast. I fill the bottom of my tray with about 1/4 inch of water and check on the level every other day.

I use a cheapo amazon.com heat mat. No idea about the heating pad.
