The box is about 4' tall and just over 1' wide and long, so once she starts to outgrow the box, i will just cut the box along the sides so i can essentially expand it to fit the size of the plant.

Germinated using the towel method as shown. Fan on the front is for cool air. My second fan is on the upper portion of the left side of the box (exhaust). 20/4 Light cycle right now. The seed has popped off and i can see the top of the plant right now, but no leaves quite yet. Undecided on topping and/or LSTing as this is my first shot at this, although neither method seems too daunting with proper care. Ill worry about that later.

Ill shoot some more pics as she sprouts and I'll keep the journal updated as developments occur. I'm just doing this for fun and personal use so yield is not really critical. Trying to get a good system down first that I can tweak as I become more experienced. Comments and criticism are welcome!!! First post, first grow...so Im more than happy to hear anything you guys think. :leaf:

Update:

So I had smoked some good stuff the other day, don't remember what it was. Found a seed, so I just dropped it straight into a 3 gallon pot of wet soil. No towel germination. The first two pictures show that pot sitting outside. I'm not really too concerned about it, just dropped it in and seeing what happens..so we will see!

The other three show the slow progression of the blue cheese indoors. I can overcome the impatience often felt by new growers and just hope its a slow grower. Shes leaning a bit b/c she shifted slightly after watering.

I also added a picture of the moisture meter I got a home depot. It also reads light level and pH for $9.

Ok, so I will stop posting those small pictures, because im sure its pain to open them rather than see full sized images.

As you can see, the leaves are turning yellow. I think the CFLs are creating quite a bit of heat due to the small enclosure so I moved the lights back to about 6" from the top. I'll also be adding a larger fan this week to help dissipate some of the heat.

More updates soon..

Ok, sooo my blue cheese failed. Not sure why, but anyways Ive got something new.

This is Afghan Kush Ryder. She got some nute burn since i put the seedling directly in the fox farms soil. Good to know i wont do that again. Hopeful this go round.

So the very bottom leaf set doesn't seem to be doing much anymore while the others are flourishing. They are clearly impaired, and I'm considering clipping them. Should I just wait since the plant still is young? Right now it's working on the fourth set.
