First post/First Grow/Got All my Info from RIU how are my seedlings?

All of the information I have is from this absolutely wonderful site. I have been smoking for 8 years and the mother of my little babies here was hands down the best pot I had ever smoked, the grower hooked me up with 40-50 seeds and well here is how I am doing so far.


I am on day 5 and one of the seedlings I have planted is really outdoing the others.

What kind of lights are you using? If those are flourescent lights i would lower them down a bit. plants lookin kinda stretched out.

I can see those green Miracle Grow beads in your soil, that's no good bro.

I raised them up, they are t8 6500K bulbs.
The MG is only from right around where the plant was on its first day, I had to change the soil after reading how terrible MG soil was and why.

They are up right under the lamp now i'll go take a pic.

Buy DARK, colored cups that don't let light in--- the transparent/clear/foggy kind of cups prohibit roots from growing to the edges. If you get the same size, you can just drop them inside without transplanting- plus, you can see the root development since you are already using semi-transparent cups Or, you can wrap each cup in tape.

Either way, you'll have a larger root mass if you get those sides darkened!!

If you hold an empty cup up to the light and can see a glow, it's not dark enough. Just double up those red cups you have!
