First plant ever hows she lookin?

Thanks for the guidance man! Its just really awesome to be able to do this finally. i've seen a few of my friends grows before so i learned how to top and train but no one ever showed me exactly what to look for when it comes to sexing

Most likely its a female kinda bushy,is it fan leaves or branches growing above the other fan leaves? if branches u got a female

There is no sign of sex in that picture sorry man man. :'( All I see is stipules and one looks burnt. I see what looks like tiny hairs very blurry in the background but I doubt those are pistils

I actually want to know where you got that bit of info, Please tell me it was from a friend that has no clue what they are talking about and not on this forum.....

Don't take that information and try to sex your plant....that is not very good advice for a first time grower.

You cannot sex your plant until you have entered pre flowering phase which you will not go into unless you switch the lighting to 12/12 or have an auto flowering plant

I was just about to say the same thing until i saw you called him out on that. Why are inexperienced people trying to give advice? Its not "trying" to help its doing more bad than good. If you dont know exactly what your talking about just keep your mouth shut (figuratively of coarse). It doesnt matter if you have a 6'' plant thats bushy as austin powers pubic hair, or a 10 foot plant that has 3 leaves and 1 branch.. branches and leaves tell you NOTHING about the sex of the plant.

You wont know the sex until you flower it, which is when you change the light cycle to 12/12. Sometimes plants prematurely show signs of sex though. When you change the lights over the plants hormones start sexing the plant. If it is female you will see white hairs or pistils coming from different parts of the plant. If it is male, you will find little sacks or balls on the plant. A simple google search of this info will show you pics of the difference and comparison.

Also, infected G, you shouldn't be looking for "orange" hairs. The hairs or pistils do not turn orange until later in the flowering stage. You were trying to look for something that would never have been there in that stage of the plant. Also, +++rep to the guy im quoting for catching that and taking the time to address that false statement. I would like to know where he heard that also, if it came from this forum we need to stop that trail of false info before people actually walk away thinking thats how you determine the sex.


EDIT: Just realized the guy has 500 posts, tons of rep and has been a member since 2009, please tell me how you have been growing anything besides hermies and males without knowing this crucial info.. i mean that is the basics of growing were only here to grow females so i just cant fathom this.. lol

It kind of reminds me of middle school when kids were like if it has 7 leaves it's female if it has nine leaves it's male. I believed that when I was a kid lol

Well my 600 hps just arrived the other day so im planning on takin a cut and flowering after this weekend so i'll see soon enough te sex of my plant. I should have realized that was just a burnt stipule. Im just anxious to find out since its my first baby!

lol :P I find a lot of people just click on threads and read the last page and don't bother to read any other pages when there are like 5 pages of info that has already been answred then they just repeat every answer because they were too lazy to click previous page lmao

i find the same thing with people doing that as well. And yes good luck to you G you have about a 50/50 chance so hope for the best!

Whatever hahaha what can ya do there will always be those people. But thanks guys! Im hoping fem as well butnif not its no big deal i have two plushberry and one vortex clones and today is day 10 so im hoping for some roots when i get home from work! And i just got 6 skywalker og beans from RP!

hey man i also am a first time grower and my plants turned out to be both female and from that close up pic they looked like my plants but like 1 week later they developed them white hairs best of luck man

Pause i have a 100% success rate spotting the gender of my plants before they shoot out calyx or pistils.As i tell everyone else show me 1 female plant that has (fan leaf on fan leaf)
in the node and not a branch and i will never say this again.You kinda sound like the person who told me i had a hermie even tho i knew it was a long calyx.Maybe people should take
a closer look at their plants instead of going on by what every has told them.No one has ever discredited my information with actual proof only words.Just answer this bro,did a single fan leaf occur in the node instead of 3 growing points? 1 means male now do me the honor of proving me wrong.

You have almost the amount of post i do and you have no rep and i just really started posting this year,yeah i got rep cause i give good advice and i observe and don't just go by what people tell me,also i had another account b4 this one but lost the pw and email,but anyways as stated before i have a 100% success rate spotting the gender of my plants,this is not just guess work,i've grown hundreds of plants indoors and outdoors and i never did or will encounter a female plant with 1 single fan leaf growing in the node,if i have a huge ass calyx growing from my plant why would i still be trying to wait for pistils when i can clearly tell what it is,and some goof ball like you would say just wait and see when i can clearly see 3 small balls that look like a club that grows closer in towards the stalk than a calyx would.You guys crack me up lol get some rep and some grows before tryna discredit me with no proof when i have plenty.Try giving your veg plants a small dose of bloom nutes watch them long pistils form ;-)(ancient hotshot secret)

lol ok man rofl i had more rep then you at 500 post rep doesnt mean shit. and the 100s of plants you have grow u had a 100% sucess rate in spoting male i dont belive that for 1 min dude your probably culling females rofl with your 100% sucess rate i have noticed that the males in my crops are usaly biger and grow allot faster but this isnt alwasyt the case so i highly dobout your 100% sucess rate maby 70% but no way you have 100% sucess in spoting males before they flower. u must know some vital info the rest of the grow world has forgoten or you just full of shit
