lst looks good man. been thinking bout the humidity issue, i think all pc cases will have tis due to the lack of growing space and the amount of air that is constantly being moved in and out at a fast rate. lemme know if that makes sense lol

peace bro

Thanks man, I guess I don't even need to say it, but you inspired me on that one. lol :bigjoint:
That's the conclusion I've been coming to for the past few days. I have two jars of water, and a soaked rag in there, and the humidity only reaches 40% at max! So getting any higher than that really isn't going to be easy. However, I did start spraying the walls of it too by the way. And it brought the humidity to 52% I've never seen it higher than that, but It did go back down within an hour or so. Maybe I just need to hook up a Humidifier and run a tube to the case? I think It might work? :leaf:

plagerz: I haven't been keeping track of this crop. I probably should be though.. If I were to guess.. lets see.. I started this thread on the 30th of December, and it's currently the 16th of January. That's two weeks.. And they were about a week and a half old before I made this box... So almost 4 weeks? Roughly.. I'd like to have someone to compare to, that's at basically the same point I'm at. Just to judge progress, and share ideas with. I posted some pictures only a couple of days ago. There really isn't much of a difference.. Are you going to LST?

plagerz; Oh and if you want to look at a complete journal, you should check this out. CrazyTrain14 has a journal with lowryder, and it's from beginning to end. I've gone over it a few times to see if I was missing out on anything. You should do the same. It's a really good grow, If I do say so myself!! Here is a link to his page. I might invest in the same strain? CrazyTrains Lowryder PC grow

yo tg,

yea so we are on the same page with the humidity levels lol gunna be hard to keep it at a stable desirable level. but if you decide to go with lowryder, go for it man lol or even lowryder 2, the yields are higher. but lowryder was a good learning strain. how bout some pic updates? kinda flattering that you are recomending someone to look at my grow haha

peace dude

Hey guys,

I don't want to try to jack this thread with my first RIU post but I just wanted to throw you some encouragement.

I just completed my first random bagseed PC grow this weekend. I ended up with 16 decent buds ranging from the size of your thumb to the size of grape or something like that. I'm currently drying/curing.

I did a quick-dry of all the little popcorn buds and trimming and did a quick alcohol extraction that left me with 1/3 inch ball of sticky tar-like hash. I was really nervous to smoke it because if it didn't work, all my effort would be for nothing.

No need to worry!

My GF and I smoked about 4 hits each last night and it was a perfect soaring sativa high that lasted for hours.

I can't wait until I can taste the totally cured buds. If they suck, or they don't smoke well, I am just going to hash them like the trimmings because that was successful beyond my expectations.

I flowered for about 4 weeks under three daylight CFLs and then went to 12/12 for right around 10 weeks.

I used the intake and outtake fans that came with the PC and added a variable speed USB cage fan for interior circulation.

I started with three plants. One was a male, one just never looked healthy, and one was a nice female. I transplanted to a long rectangular plastic "pot" for the flowering. I got it at walmart sold as a refrigerator ice holder. It fits perfectly in the PC case giving maximum soil volume and lots of surface area to keep the box humidity up.

I topped the plant following the directions here and also did extensive LST to keep all the branches from shading one another out.

I made a TON of mistakes, but I learned tons of information too. Everything you need to know is buried in the threads on RIU. I used the "advanced search" function probably a hundred times over the last few months.

I don't know my yeild, but it fills a small mason jar which will probably keep my limited needs met for the next 6 months. A casual user could probably get by with doing this two times per year and never have to worry about maintianing a connection ever again, and also do their part to stop the drug/gang violence at the mexican border.

Anyway....

Good luck to all of you.

I'm a total amature at this, but if anyone has any questions I would be glad to help out.

What It iz Jive turkey? lol Well of course I'd post a link to your thread, you did everything right, and It's a good for learning "The Art Of the PC Box" lol!
Anyways.. I've been really considering Lowryder for sometime now, I will probably go with LR2, I've just read better things about it. OR the Lowlife automatic AK? I've read good things about it too! bongsmilie

Thanks for the response man, As long as it maybe.. lol! I'm glad to hear you had a successful harvest. Keep me posted on the yield, and do you have any pics? :bigjoint:

I'm bummed that I didn't take any pictures. The plant ended up looking like a little bonsai tree. It also would have helped me out a lot on my next grow, but I think I have the basics down a little better.

Next time I will try to document things and post a journal. A couple of the ones around this place pretty much give you a blueprint for getting the job done, but more information is always a good thing.

I think next time I'm going to try a specific breed of plant instead of bagseed. I was thinking Lowrider 2.

Enjoy your first grow. It was way more fun for me than scrounging for a connection and then dropping a $100 for a random bag of who-knows-what.

LOL TG here u go man
ok dont laugh haha im a complete noob, yeah theses are 2 weeks old urr was using 2 14watt 5k clfs to vegg, with the lights sitting pretty close to the plants, today i switched to two 18watt 2700 clf lights, gonna see if these babies will get me any thing, hoping alteast one of them would be female, yeah i know they should be in separate containers, but like i said im a noob :). waiting for my dang mylar to get here so i used tin foil, read up on it and i guess its bad because the lights get redirected in small concentrations that can burn your plants, oh well its my first time

plagerz: That's looking really good man! The one in the middle is looking exceptional!! For your first grow they aren't looking bad at all. Also, If you were to mix those two spectrum's of light, It would do a lot more good for you!! I currently only have 2 23w 5500k and 1 13w 2700k CFLs in my box. It's not too bad, there is hardly enough room for all three plants in my box, with the lighting I have.. So maybe I'll go and grab some more lights from wally world or something? Any who.. keep up the good work. If you have any problems, or questions, you can ask here. I don't mind. Anything that will help! bongsmilie

Shit man, I didn't even see this post until 2 seconds ago. My bad.. This isn't my FIRST grow, It's my second. It's just my First time growing in a PC.. That's all! lol! But I really wish I would have documented how things went for me too. It would have cleared up a few issues I've had already.. :wall:

I finally switched over to the 2700k bulbs. So the 12/12 should be perfect now. I've noticed that Abby and Aysel have some side growth coming in! I topped them all the other day, so I am waiting to see the rest of the plant start coming up.
Also, I've been working on a Hydroponic set up. Not quite for the PC but an experiment none the less. Anyone got any suggestions? Make note, that this set up is for my clones. I took a clone from one of my other plants, Apple, in hopes to put her in my DWC. I know I need to cover the clear plastic with something, but I just took the clone tonight, so I don't need the system until the roots start to come out.

I've considered a mini hydro set up for a PC grow. But I would really have to make it less than 5 inches deep. I guess instead of a DWC (Deep Water Culture) It would be SWC (Shallow Water Culture). Then set a SCOG right below the lights. I believe it might work out well. Some in put would be nice!

CrazyTrain: Have you considered a SWC for you set up? I think it might be a cool Idea to mess with! bongsmilie

Thanks man! :bigjoint:

I believe our best bet would be something that can fit the entire bottom side of the PC box and only be a few inches tall..

Does anyone know how much room the roots really need for flowering in this? I would like to know the minimal amount of root space needed.

i think im gonna go with the original soil plan for this grow and then next go around ill throw some whiteberry in a dwc setup
