First outside grow

I have 6 plants growing, been in 5g buckets for about a week, with miracle grow organic garden soil. At first they were stretching a bit so I slowed on the water, seems they were getting too much. Now since I just started them, one of my big questions, would they grow faster and safer, in a shed with 2x40cfls per plant on 24hr light, or au natural, under the sun? Oh yeah, forgot to mention, 3 kaya golds, 3 master kush. Also, since I feel I may have been over watering, how long should I wait to water again, and how often between waters?

How big are they if they're more than a foot go au natural the cfls wont be enough. Water when an inch of soil gets dry.

did u fix up the soil at all? perlite or anything like that? and as far as watering it depends on your weather and your plants size. (id go outdoors) and as far as telling if they need water in pots i like to pick them up and judge the weight of the pot. hope this helps and goodluck

Nothing added to the soil. I think they were being over watered, so I haven't watered them in a few days, they were getting stretchy so I buried them up to the bottom leaves. Main reason I was thinking inside, my dumb ass dogs like to eat new growth. Maybe cfls at night to add to the grow?

Live in n fl, so it's pretty hot, and has been pretty dry.

First off. I wouldn't go 24 hours. i would go 18/6. second if they are young I would start them in partial sun for a day or two and slowly work them into full sun. If you started them outdoors in the sun. Rock them in full sun. Not too sure on the situation based upon the info provided, but this is what I would do. Also for the watering put your finger as far into the soil as you can if the tip of your finger is wet then don't water it. If it is dry about 2 inches, then water it

Well I just put em out and lifted them to wear the dog couldn't reach. Any idea on when flowering starts in fl? Would it be possible to sustain veg a bit longer with the help of cfls? Or maybe hps? I still have lights from an indoor grow.

Guess that's one other thing, I grew indoor with a wick system and hps and cfl, they grew way faster in the beginning than these have, thus my concern.

So it's a week shy of a month being in the soil, and they are only about 4 inches tall and have three and four sets of leaves. Again, im comparing this with hydro grows in the past. They seem to be growing sloow, any suggestions? Just watering so far.

Well there is a big shade tree next door, but by 8am they have direct sun till probably 4, so that's 8hrs. Seems it should be enough, that plus about 4 more hours of indirect.

I'd unbury the stem a little. If you have soil up to the first set of leaves you could end up with stalk rot. Try adding some Mykos. I use Vital Earth's PHC Biopak. It's got more than twice the spore count of Humblodt's (about $50). Good luck!
