Welcome to RIU.You can always use a container and cut the bottom out then Duct tape it back then when ready to move outside just take the tape off and you wont have to worrie about harming the rootball.Alot of ppl i know do this for there oudoor grows. Then when spring comes they dig a hole and fill with the same kinda soil that the container has and be Done.GL

I start in March indoors using one gallon smart pots and a 200W CFL. After three weeks I start introducing them to the outdoors. By the 4th week they are transplanted outside in the garden.

In order to start in January I'd need to double my lights and use at least a 20 gallon smart pot. By the time they go outside they should be put in 200 gallon containers (or 12ft centers). Having said that, you'd get some monsters for sure, regardless of what nutrients or fertilizers you used. The hard part would be managing the stems and making sure branches don't snap on each other.

if you start in winter, LST, or top, or both. develop a hedge for outside. or you may wind up with an unmanageable tree. imo

Made a big mistake with my mine. Also outdoors first time planted them mid Winter carrying them outside during the day and bringing them in at night then when the night/day hours started changing they started flowering lol, now I have 8 or so mini Marijuana plants with a lot of soon to be mini buds.:wall: Going to put in a new crop, now that I have learned from my first mistake!

i plan on starting them now and vegging them till spring then putting them out to finish in the bush this is just a experiment for me now
