First outdoor plants

Listen to Eastwood here. I’d anchor that. A stiff wind and you’d be back with us singing the blues.
Yeah man I’ve already had one of them blow over on me because I didn’t water it the one morning so it was top heavy and the wind just knocked her down.

You’ll need to rig up some kind of support for the plants when they start flowering too.
That’s a draw back to growing in tall containers like those is that you are putting an 8’ plus plant on a 3’ pedestal.

What do you suggest? Something like trellis?

As your plants really get into flowering they pack on weight right at the end of the stems. They can grow so big they can’t support themselves not to mention what happens in the event of a storm or high winds on those heavily laden branches. Any kind of fencing or support poles loosely attached to the plants will work. The more support the better.

Id say get 8 tall plant posts and some of the trellis netting from Home Depot, one net per plant. String the plant up towards the top (maybe a foot or so of the top poking through, I would think it should hold up, will also help secure the branches when they start gaining weight.

Kind of like this:
