20160222_162847.jpg Hi guys.20160222_162847.jpg

Busy with my first outdoor grow. Had a few ups and downs already but its starting to look better. This is the best that I could come up with, with limited funds. I am transplanting one bagseed plant tomorrow and I've got three little ones that had it tough in the beginning, but pulled through, that i'm transplanting in the next few weeks. The guy at the nursery said i should mix the two soils, they have no fertilizer whatsoever and distribute the perlite between four 5 gallon pots. The wormcastings he said 250grams per pot and the bone meal about 2 handfulls. Any feedback on the ratios I was given. Sorry about loading the same photo twice, a bit stoned and I love it!20160222_162833.jpg 20160221_112711.jpg20160222_162814.jpg

As a beginner getting a already mixed bag takes a lot of the guess work out like a roots organic soil or dr. Earth etc. all you would need is a couple bags along with a added mychos dusting as a plus where u dug your hole for tp (great white or such) , also might want to check out fabric pots not very expensive path either

Im in South Africa and there is limited choice available. The bag on the left is actually compost and I only noticed that when I got home as I didnt check the bag when the guy suggested that. I have 4 plants to transplant and have to mix the four bags 50 50 to fill the pots. Maybe I must just exchange the compost for two more bags of the topsoil, mix in the perlite, bonemeal and wormcastings and feed with the liquid plant food when watering. This is the size of the plant 20160221_112711.jpg

your of to a gd start lets say you used 75-80% normal or plain soil in the pots I would aim for 15-20 % perlite in the pot then couple hundred grams of worm castings mixed through and bone meal mixed through...this should give you something can still drain through the pot properly and enough ferts to not worry to much about liquid ferts u use in the first 8-10 weeks except a regular once every 8-10 days liquid feed.
Your of to a gd start just don't over strength the soil first up cos you are only using medium size pots..

and are you doing only those 3 pots in the picture? if so u wont need to open all the perlite bags you have..i generally use a 5-10 litre bag in a 100 gallon hole

I know your in south Africa but man if you could dig even a 50 -100 gallon hole with the soil and ferts you got you could be looking at 3 lb at the end of harvest..those pots are good but if your girls are growing well as they are already they will outgrow them pretty quick..would be a disappointment to have a healthy plant right up to bloom time only to start dealing with root issues cos they have run out of room

yep ok u prob wouldn't need more than a 3-5 litre amount of perlite mixed in ..I got taught when I first come to riu perlite at the rate of say 80/20 soil/perlite is about right
not trying to say I know everything just giving you some shortcuts so you don't have to learn the hard way.
your in extreme heat areas yeah?
