This is my attemp at a lst grow for my first outdoor grow. All these plants are feminized so if they survive I expect some good smoke. I know there's better ways to doing this but this is the only way I can right now. Will it work is the question. Let me know guys, thanks, I'll keep you updated.image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

5 gallons for an outdoor plant is not big. I have done them in 5 gallon bags but slice the bottoms. I use 10 gallon bags typically and by the end of the season they are root bound. Sorry if I missed it but why the LST. It is my understanding that is done to allow better light penetration under lights and not sure if its required under sun, could be wrong though.

I want to try and get more tops for the plant. And it's not like I want 2 pounds per plant lol I'm just trying to grow some bud

Well the first plant you see is black jack fast version which is indica dominant the second is a hammer shark resin seed, it's also indica dominant I believe. The third and last is a black jack followed by a pure kush plant in the red 5 gallon bucket and I have holes in the bottom to ;) I was hoping someone would say they'd do fine in that. But here's where I got them from in order

Tell me what you think about my choices. Thanks :) And I'm also using lambert soil organic potting mix 100% organic so they say. Canadian peat moss and perlite evenly mixed.

they look like some dank strain to me the 5 gallon buckets work perfect for me i got 6 of them indoor but it will do just fine outdoors, keep them babies in direct sun light, if u want to grow big plants keep topping them and if u got good soil it should get u through flower maybe, i always feed my soil babies with my general hyroponics nutez every other water and i use roots soil with bone and blood meal and bat guano with some perlite and manure mixed together only thing left that i need is some worm casting and aztomite

I have this for the root development. I really appreciate the feed back though, I'll be updating this grow , but they get great sun Im their spot can't really say how much because I don't time it I just let nature do it's thing but the spot is nice IMO here's some pics of the spot. In on pic the sun was setting and the sky was clear in the other with the sun in the other direction I was just showing the opening. The other is the spot before I plantedimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Wow man that sounds awesome , I wish you luck on your grow ! For me being a new grower this gets me exited because I know for sure my spot is fine but I never doubted it . Hearing someone else's opinion is cool though. But they seem to be doing fine, I planted around 4/20 and they are looking beautiful outdoor getting nice and strong. As far as the topping and LST training I know it may be early but if my plants make it (which they should) will they do fine and produce more tops since I topped and are giving the inner nodes more light

id say let them get about 12 to 16 inches and top again they should start to grow like wildfire in that sunlight and i would give them a dose of some kind of nutez some people use the miracle grow powder theres 2 kind a tomato and a bloom i think u use the tomato for growing and of course the bloom for the bloom or unless u want to get some gh or something like that dont worry there going to get big

No doubt man I definitely will . When shouldn't get that for them ? And I won't top again until they're taller , I'll wait

I understand the reason you would want to top and Uncle Ben has a great sticky in advanced growing that is a great read. It was LST i was asking about, just wondering about that? And you might as get em as big as possible lol.

Again newb here but are the last two pics actually trained or just topped? I was under the impression that LST was achieved by tying branches down. If I remove any of the tie down strings the plant quickly springs back up lol. I have even inadvertently broken stalks to get them away from light and unless tied down they spring back up within days. I did, for years do many outdoor grows but never took the time to do any training, perhaps I should have lol.
