Nice buds Lowlifes.
I know this is an old topic but it may help others regarding the use of fish emulsion.
Through lessons in other post on RIU, I decided to alternate 1 tbsp./g H2O Jack's Classic one week, then 1 tbsp. fish emulsion and 1 tbsp. blackstrap molasses per gallon H20 the other week. Once flowering, I substituted Jack's Blossom Booster for the Classic. I grew Northern Lights in dirt in wine cask with seven hours direct sun, then dappled sunlight for the rest of the day.
The results for a first time grow? Incredibly awesome - good full buds, great taste. Many have said it's the best weed they've ever had, often equating the taste to a fine wine.
I took a clone of an unknown sativa to overwinter indoors so I could be guaranteed females this year. I grew indoor in dirt with 3 100 watt equivalent CFLs. I used the same Classic/Fish Emulsion approach for nutes, but cut the strength 60% and applied nutes with every watering, switching between the two when the gallon jug was empty. It resulted in some mighty tasty, dense and potent buds after I took clones for this year's crop.
My general gardening experience is that fish emulsion will increase stretch and foliage. Too much fish emulsion will lead to other nute deficiencies such as calcium. Keep a close eye on your lower leaves. Flush soil and cut back on the emulsion if you start to see burnt edges and tips.
Many will have different opinions about fish emulsion, but this approach works very well for me. However marijuana is just a weed, a very resilient weed with more than one way to get best results.
