Here's the room... Using aluminum foil at the moment on the floor of the closet, only thing I had around the house.. Walls are white, i think that should be OK.. Hopefully getting an HPS light soon, just looking for the best deal possible.. Probably adding a second set of flouresent bulbs next week, or maybe some CFL bulbs..

Any suggestions?

Watered all the ladies (hopefully, fingers crossed) and put them back into their hiding place

Liking how they look.. Adjusted lights, right around 2 inches, give or take a bit for each plant...

Time to smoke... bongsmilie .......

Looking good, I am starting out soon and am wondering where you plan on getting your HPS light as I am looking for one also

toss the foil, if you must use it make sure its the dull side facing up. get a plastic tarp for the ground, they are cheap (the one for cars/camping). the ground's color is irrelevent, with white walls you are already groovy.
keep trucking, RIU is here to help. obsessively read the FAQ.

Day 7

The plants are a week old, and seem to have taken the transplant well... Slight growth from the tallest plant, little to none from the rest..

Yesterday only 2 of the plants had their original 2 leaves further down on the stem, where as the other 4 plants orginal 2 leaves were right under the bigger new leaves.. If that makes any sense.. lol

Today, 2 more have their original 2 leaves further down the stem.. I know those two leaves eventually fall off, but that leads me to believe they're taking the transplant OK... Might be wrong though..

The two plants in the clay pots are question marks.. They are the smallest of the six and their leaves aren't nearly as big as the other four.. I didn't intentionally plant those two in the clay pots, kind of weird...

Wanted to add more light, but the only lighting I have available is another 4' shop light fixture.. Kind of a tight fit in the closet, so I'll probably just try to get some CFL bulbs that i'll use in future grows..

Day 9

Watered yesterday.... They haven't grown a whole lot since the transplant (3 days ago), but they have grown some and most have a newer sets of leaves growing.. Haven't fallen over, curled, or turned colors so i'm asuming the transplant went OK... Hopefully in the next day or two they will really take off..

Have a real small fan blowing on low inside the closet.. Stems seem to be pretty strong, but i wouldn't mind them getting stronger.. I've also been trying to leave the closet door open 6-8 hours a day to get some extra ventilation..

I'll get some more pics up once they show some more growth..

Day 10

Watered this morning.. Still no growth.. Getting a bit worried that the transplant didn't go very well.. I know it's in shock for a few days, but it's been 4 days..

They appear to be growing new sets of leaves since the transplant, but they haven't grown in size.. All 6 are still green and standing upright, so i'm kind of at a loss at this point.. Might just be the fact that w/ them being indoors, i'm able to check on them more often than if I was growing outdoors.. I'm trying to check on them just once a day, so I can really see their daily progress, but sometimes it's hard not to check on them.. lol

Anyone run into the same problem? Advice/Suggestions?

400watt HPS light w/ lamp/ballast should be arriving by friday.. Hopefully plants will be ok til then under the 2 40watt flouresents..

Haven't really looked into ventilation at the moment... Room locks from the inside, so i've just been leaving the closet door open w/ fan on in the room and closet for about 12 hours a day if not more.. House sits around 74 degrees so hopefully that will be sufficient even w/ the HPS in the closet..

Day 11

Leaves have shown some good growth since watering yesterday.. Plants don't appear to be getting any taller, but the sets of leaves are spreading out on the stem.. 5 out of 6 have 2 sets of fully deveolped leaves and a third set of leaves that is starting to grow in size..

Plant #6 is the smallest of the group, and it's leaves appear to be thicker and more of a dark green color.. Probably a different seed, where as the other 5 all look pretty similar..

Added two more 4' 40watt flouresents until HPS arrives..

Well, some bad news some good news.. Something went wrong w/ the 400watt purchase (online)... So i decided to run up to the local hydro store..

Had a 400watt w/ ballast and reflector for $229.99 ... and a 250watt w/ ballast and reflector for $139.99... Decided to go w/ the 250watt for two reasons..

1) heat... I think i'd run into too big of an issue for me to handle w/ the 400watt, especially considering my overall budget..

2) Guy knocked the price down to $99.99 on the 250watt and threw in a second HPS bulb for free.. Wouldn't knock down the price on the 400watt, so I went w/ the 250watt..

Pretty sure $100 for the setup is a good deal, considering it's brand new and I didn't have to buy it online and mess w/ all that possible hassle..

Plants are loving it.. They're only 11 days old, so there about 2.5 feet away from the light.. I'll be checking to see if I need to adjust..

Any suggestions on watering now that I've switched over? Should I water them some today?? I watered yesterday, but I don't want them to dry up too much overnight..

Wow... the HPS really did some work overnight... Here's a pic of the biggest plant..

I think they're doing good for 12 days, but any feedback would be appreciated..

hey hey, if they're drooping just be careful you're not overwatering! and don't worry about the little fella that hasn't broken through, i've had some take ages longer than the other, that or he got transplant shock and is no longer with us lol
kinda rude to refer to his babies as "fella" dont you think? lol
