Well, I am now starting my first real attempt at indoor. I have learned much from my previous outdoor experience, but am kinda nervous about this one.The sun is after all, fairly idiot-proof. I have a rather modest set-up. I have no security issues save for being robbed .
Standard T12s ( 4' x 2 ) for first week or so
400w MH/HPS for the rest of the grow
Fox Farms Ocean Forrest soil
FF Grow Big / Tiger Bloom / Big Bloom
Final pots will be square 7 x 7" 1.6 gal.
And of course all the fans / timers / etc.
Thats pretty much it.
So let me get started here. Feel free to post questions or comments .
10/24 - I started the germination process last night and am still waiting patiently for sprouts to break the surface. I went a totally different route in regards to my germ. process. I am having second thoughts as I am playing with the bulk of my seed supply. The process I am using is as follows:
I put the seeds in glasses of distilled water that was slightly warmer than room temperature for about 8 hours. Instead of the paper towel method I planted the seeds directly into little 2" coconut fibre pots filled with the Ocean Forrest. The pots are made to be planted into bigger pots and the roots grow right though. Helps with transplant and the related shock I am hoping.I put them in a little shallow to hopefully help them break the surface with no problems. I am keeping the pots moist but not saturated on a heating pad under the T12s.I have heard from some people that Ocean Forrest is too hot for sprouting but others say its fine....
I hate the germ period. I hate waiting to see if the survival ratio is good or bad. Anyhow, I planted 10 Purps , 7 Raft , and just 2 of the feminized Buddha for a total of 19 seeds. I want to make sure I get the numbers I need and had to plan on a catastrophic germ rate.I am doing this particular grow as much for seed as I am smoke.I will attempt to get some pure bloodlines as well as crossing just for fun. It's gonna be a bitch considering all these plants are going to be in the same space.
