will two 1500 watts with everything else done right still have a potential for good yield? i know it wont be like an hid yield....also my other question is can i use my mars 300 with the two 1500 watts even though there different led lights? there all full spectrum....thanks!
Ok, rather than just guess, lets guestimate; 5 x 7 space = 35 sq ft (referring to these leds as '1500w' is frankly insulting to us real world cob/led advocates lets call then 200w crxsunny to save pissin anyone off) so 35 sq ft with 2 x 200w crxsunny's and a 120w mars gives us 520w / 35 = 15w per sq ft, so no, it will not have 'potential for good yield' that is not to say the plants won't grow, just don't be expecting too much, if you do better 1/4 g/per watt you will be doing well under that amount of lights.
For decent results you need above 40w per sq ft using the top dollar white spectrum cob's you will have less than half that of cheapo blurples so don't look to a gram per watt or you will be disappointed. Here lies the problem with marketing wank surrounding these blurples and their claimed hps 'equivalent' wattage claims, they are fraudulently misleading and have given leds in the grow scene an irreparable bad name.
Also like I said, all leds are equal but some WAY more than others, this can only be determined by the buyer of lights if a lumen figure or lumen per watt figure is given, to explain, even given our assumption that **Actual Power consumption : energy saving, just consumes
about 260W.** gives us a real wattage of 200w(ish), if those watts were coming from lets say the very latest white spectrum cobs (@ around 150l/w) would give you an actual measured light pressure of 30,000 lumens, your crxsunny's will likely be much nearer to (on the generous side) 120l/w so will only give you 24,000, or approx 75% as much light from the same watts. Sadly we can only guess how efficient (lumens per watt) and how powerful (actual output wattage) of your lights because the manufacturer has filled their site with entirely empty marketing wank of no actual value when it comes to deciding if they are shit or not, which from years in engineering tells me the company know something they would prefer you didn't find out till after you hand over your cash.
If you bought em already and are reluctant to throw em back at the suppliers of they are all you can currently afford, grow weed under em, if you promise never to tell another soul, my first ever grow was done under a 100/150w car headlight bulb attached to a car battery trickle charger and an ordinary 100w incandescent light bulb, it grew shit weed but the money i saved on buying in that shit weed i dialled back into my system, i now have a rig that costs about a thousand (£) and I 'invested' fuckall.
