Good morning members of Roll it up, this is my first time on the site and I am very impressed. I have been running a grow operation the past few months and I am closing down on my first harvest. My room is 55" x 23" x 8'.

600 Watt HPS
- The light is connected to a duct blower and ducting which runs through the roof into the attic to keep the heat down.
Advanced Nutrients
- SensiBloom A & B
- Big Bud
- Liquid Carboload
- Overdrive
- Final Phase
- Sweet Leaf
Ebb & Flow Hydroponic System
- 15 gallon reservoir with 400 gph water pump
- The system floods 6 times a day for 3 minutes a day
- Medium: Hydroton grow rocks and rockwool cubes

Here is my first crop, just started week 7 today. As you can see I have 9 plants in a sea of green method.
Your grow is exactly what i try to tell people to build when they ask about how to build a first grow. If i were to add my 2 cents worth which its not even worth that is don't spend all the money on special sauces i am running plain flora bloom and a few tablespoons of Koool bloom week 3 though 6 and that's it. I am going to be doing quite well with just that. Other wize from that great job ! + rep

Thank you for the advice sparkafire, but i have just fallen in love with the advanced nutrients. The bud and resin production is head and shoulders above other nutrients

Haha, you're right about that, do you have any pics of your plants so i can compare the buds?
I have not posted pics for awhile. ever since i started my 1000 hps its been really hard to get the lighting right. I am getting close to finishing the first run so i will be sure to take pics then. I have to, Bugs will always think he is a weed baron if i don't show him up.

Oh here is my grow https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/86225-al-b-fuct-tribute-grow.html

Everyone's got a favorite nutrient schedule. Mine is Advanced Nutrients too. For some reason they seem to get a lot of hate mostly directed at their price. I think it costs a lot more to buy Advanced Nutrients in some places, but that certainly isn't true around here. Even if it were I'd probably still buy it.

As far as HIDs messing with pictures, I was actually thinking of rigging something up using one of those wall switches like they use for the lights in stairways, and setting it up so that one position sends power to the grow lights and another sends power to just a regular light fixture with a small CFL so that I can flip the switch before I open the cab and not have to keep sunglasses handy.

That'd make photography easier as well as being a lot easier on the eyes.

Getting 12 hours of dark is important for flowering, but would kicking the lights off like that for a little bit mess them up?

i also have wondered the same thing. When i need to work on my system and lighting i turn off the main hid and use a few cfl's to make sure there is no "quick darkness". even for a second. But i always wonder if the Decrease in amount of light and intensity, Create and issue and/or hurt my plants. good question i hope someone knows.

Uninterrupted darkness and light is very important when the plant is young, but as it gets older and near the end of flowering you can interrupt it much more.

Haha sorry I just re-read it, your plants will just not grow as much when the cfl's are on and the HID is off, I wouldn't think it would hurt the plants too much

I have been flushing for almost a week and the plants are still looking a bit premature. They have several amber hairs but the trichomes are still cloudy white. Im thinking I could flush this crop about 10-12 days total before it's ready.

If you think it might go much longer than that you might want to consider giving them a little to eat if it looks like they could need it. I know that Sweet Leaf is a good way to give them a little bit of a snack without undoing all the good work of the flush.

It's not enough to grow them with, but it helps keep them going through a long flush.

Im only planning on a two week flush, the trichomes are starting to turn amber but the process is slow. Wed. will be two weeks of flush, I'll end up chopping them then.
