First Hydro Grow: Nutrient Film Technique

I've grown marijuana in soil with floresant lights and i was pleased with the outcome but the yield wasn't very much. So i decided to build a hydro setup out of a rubbermaid tub and some gutters. Im using a pump from a waterfall i had in my backyard. I have 2 trays with 3 spots in each. I orderd some "medi-bud" seeds and the yield is supposed to be around 1200g per plant. is that a realistic number? I have a few more important questions:

I have the feed hoses going into the higher end of each tray. Will the nutrient water be able to pass through the first 2 rockwool cubes to get to the last one? Or do i need to split the hose 3 ways?

I plan on using a 1000w HPS light. Out of the cheaper lights here (under 300) what would my best choice be?

Thanks guys

I don't have a recommendation for you regarding lights cause my experience is limited to what I have (Sun System VII) but I have ordered from BG Hydro and have some advice: once you decide on a light - search the web for a cheaper price and use BG Hydro's "price match" option - they will issue a coupon (within a few days to your email) to match the cheaper price! I paid list price and got the glass and duct fittings at no extra cost!

my only other advice is to make sure you vent those 1000 watters - they are hot, hot, hot! (but you probably already knew this).

1200g is like 2 1/2 lbs. i'm incredibly skeptical about those numbers. If it does yield lots of bud typically it's not quality which makes me question the "medi-bud" name(presuming it claims to be medical quality). Highly experienced growers could get a plant to produce that much of medical quality but that takes a lot of veg time and an extremely fine tuned set up.

I don't mean to discourage. best of luck but i wouldn't count on that being a realistic number.

well that's a pretty reliable site so, maybe. it almost sounds like big bud crossed with white widow. 1/2 lb per plant is still pretty good and if it's still good quality then you may have hit the jack pot.

The thing is, they do not say what they used to get that much pot. Did they use the sun in a greenhouse? I can see it. Under a single 1000 watt bulb, I doubt it. Under a 1000 watt, you will do well to get one pound, actually, 10 oz up to a pound with everything done right. You screw it up and you could end up with a lot less then the 10 oz too.
Good luck though, I hope you get at least the 10 oz's.

I would honestly be happy with a 1/4 of what they claim

heres a link for the seeds...

Medi Bud Marijuana Seeds

i did the medibud and the ice from there.

ice was fantastic but medibud was horrible low potency but it was a runt also so could of had problems dunno..

gonna do another ice soon was a monstrous yield got over a qp alone off her super fat center cola.,

also that is an outdoor maximum yield of their 1200g perplant.
