First Growing Experience

Hey everyone!

For a while now I have been reading these forums to learn about starting my own grow. After doing a lot of reading I have learned a lot and now feel pretty comfortable on trying to tackle my first grow. I would also like to share my experience with everyone here because without you guys I wouldn't know what I know now to get me started.

For this first growing experience I would like to get input from everyone on everything I do from building my first grow area to harvesting my first plant. This is so I can take what I have learned from all of you so far and ask about it before actually doing it so I can ensure my first growing experience is the best one. Any help and suggestions would be very much appreciated.

To start things off I would first like to show you what I plan on using as my vegetation chamber and then get some suggestions on the setup for it. My vegetation chamber dimensions are 2.6' wide x 1.5' depth x 2.6' height. It seems to have plenty of room in it to get a nice little start to growing.

As this is going to be my first grow I would like to keep it simple inside my vegetation chamber. With that said I made a illustration in paint of a simple setup of what I thought would be ideal and would like some feedback before getting started. What do you guys think? Is this a nice yet simple starting setup? Any suggestions or alternatives are welcomed.

Just to be sure everyone understands what im going for I would like to quickly say the image shows a spots made for 1 mother plant and 4 clones.

I have updated my layour slightly to where the mother plant will sit in the center of the tent now. My reason for this is due to my lighting setup. So I will now explain what my setup is and Would like to get some input in possible from anyone about if im in the right direction.

If you look at the attached picture you will see the new layout. I have marked in red where lights are being placed. The 4 red circle are where 4 plants will be and there will be a 23 watt 6500k light above each plant. Then you will see a line going straight through the box which is a t12 dual light that is hung at the top of the tent for extra lighting. Each bulb(2) is 20 watt 6500k. Is this enough lighting for a total of 5 plants in this setup. Please keep in mind that this is just for during vegetation not the whole process. There will be a bigger tent to move to for flowering later.

I did want to mention that my reasoning for moving the mother plant to the center was so the clf bulbs over each little plant can provide side lighting for the mother plant. Does this sound alright? Also I have run these lights on for a couple days to check temperatures and they stay around 80-85 with no venting right now.
