First growbox build/First grow journal

I thought it would be a good idea to keep a journal of my first growbox build and first grow. I'm basically starting at step one here, allowing any tips or help I can get.

I have an old foot locker, which I believe to be a nice size for the type of grow I'm shooting for.
Shoddy mspaint blueprint seen below:

I'm open to any suggestions of parts to use.

For the bulbs, I'm unsure of what wattage/lumen CFL's to use. I've had 3 x 26w 5000k CFL for veg and 3 x 26w 2700k for flowering in mind, would this work?

The fan I've been considering just a 120mm computer fan, seeing as how it's such a small space. Would I need something bigger?

Also, I'm unsure of which strain to grow. Narrowed it down to Big Bud, Northern Lights, Barney's Farm LSD and Bomb Seeds Medi Bomb.
Looking for something that will grow short enough for my box, low smell, good yield, good potency. I'm thinking auto seeds would be best for my type of grow, opinions?

I'll be staying on top of this thread through the whole process. Currently I'm working on cutting out the input vent in my box. Any questions will be answered and all help appreciated.

Looks good to me mate. One thing I would surgest is to get a desk fan what you would plug in and put at the bottom probz best blowing away from vent at bottom so it's not blowing the air straight from bottom. To be honest I don't have a vent in the bottom just a fan at the bottom blowing air to on to plants ad to the top ....... Just saying :)

Thanks for the input, marcy. I figured having one fan towards the top, pulling away rising hot air and circulating it upwards through the plant would be best. I'd like to be able to keep enough airflow to keep smell from building up too bad.

Another bump with another question.

I'm a bit lost on the light socket part of my built. Are regular sockets with AC plug attached available at hardware stores (home depot, lowes, etc)? I've found some light sockets with just the lead wires, but I'm no electrician, so I'm unsure of how those would work.

Also, would there be any complications with using a socket splitter to put 2 bulbs into the single socket?

I'm not sure I can really help you there as I use a hps and ballest but if I get wat your trying to say if I was you I would get one for every bulb you are useing might be alot of plugs but probz less fire risk and more power being sent to one then being used by two. I'm not sure about where you could get them from as I have never heard of home depot or Loews lol but http://www.1topstore.com/en-gbp/e27-led-cfl-halogen-bulb-lamp-light-socket-p12080.html. Something like that then buy or get a power wire with plug of a old kettle or buy cheap and wire them up will be instuctins on web

Scrog, I'm not a big fan of the direct plug sockets, doesn't fit with the design scheme I have thought up. I'd like to have either just one socket dangling from the top of my box, that I can adjust the height of (using a 2 way splitter, at that). But thanks for the input otherwise, any help helps.

marcy, that's pretty much what I'm looking for. However, I live in the USA, we don't have outlets like that here lol
