Looking for a little advice, set up a small grow room 4 feet wide by 3 feet long and 8 feet tall. Using 4 four foot fluorescents, 2 warm white and 2 cool for the veg stage, and a HPS for flowering. Have 8 plants going to grow them and hope for at least 4 good females. Started them off germinating and then put them in 6inch pots. I purchased miracle grow germination soil to get them started its ratio is somthing like 0,0.1,0. When i transplant the plants to a bigger pot what type of soil should i use? Another quesiton is if there is not much nutes in the soil to start so should i be adding nutes right away? Any advice would be awesome. Learned alot from this site already hope you guys can help me out.

Hey man,

It's advised to use the same soil you started with, using a new one might make it unbalanced and shock the plants , what HPS you using?...There should be enough nutes in the soil for a few weeks, add nutes when it shows it's first set of true leaves..

Wow all 10 actually sprouted out of the dirt now and look good. BCSeeds.com turns out ot be alright.
Still making a trip to the grow store to find a nice HPS. Thinking thousand watt would be amazing so i can hope for the best, what do you think? so you think using the same soil would be best...shit that was some expensive shit like 20 bucks for a little bag. IF i did want to change soil is it possible to do it away that wont hurt the plants?
anyone think it was a bad idea to use that soil? any advice on some good nutes for a soil with nothing in it?

you want soil with no nutes in it so u can control yourself for veg stage use fert npk 20 20 20 and yes u can switch soil type i recommend using mircle grow transplanting mix get at wallmart for when it comes time to transplant it is a liqued additive bloom fert npk 5 50 17 u only need a 400w light 4 ur setup but 600w is nice if u plan on going bigger next time watchout 4 heat with these lights specially hps oh no nutes first 2 weeks exept root fert do not fert every watering do not overwater remember oxygen and water makes plants grow may need extra drain holes or rocks 1 or 2 inches on bottom ill be back tomorrow if u have anymore ques

Thanks dude, So the soil i have should work fine then. I am growing white dragon which is a mix of White widow with another strong sativa. I will have to post some pictures up soon see what the experts think. So is this Mircle grow transplanting mix a fert for transplanting? im thinking transplanting after a couple weeks when the roots are nice and strong, the plants are about 3 days old now. Should i stay off the fert or nutes untill i use that transplanting mix? another thing is i understand the soil should be similar in texture so the plant dosent get shocked. Should i be looking for a specific type of soil that is similar? what do you think the best soil would be for what i am doing?

another thing is, by saying transplanting i mean from one small pot to another. Not from vegitative to flowering.

Sorry dude, just read that over again and noticed you meant, use the 20-20-20 during the entrie vegietative and for soil when transplanting use the transplanting mix. Is that what you meant by that?
