be careful with the heat, mine has a ventilation system and a the light is completely covered with a reflector and a plate of glass, hps can get hot. but i'm happy for you, you should see much more vigor with that light. what is the wattage?

Yeah, I am worried about the heat. I am trying to monitor the plant to see how it handles it. Right now my temp is at 81F and it is a 250watt I have the light about 7 inches above the top of my plants. Does that sound alright? Or should I try to make it higher?

81 isn't that bad at all. I have had mine at 90 before but I have an AC in the room my cab is in so I crack the door when the lights are on and it hovers around 77 and 80. can you raise your light a couple of inches? otherwise you will should be fine. what is the RH (relative humidity)? I'm looking forward to see how your ladies respond to the the stronger light should be great. be aware with hps they will stretch a bit due to the red light hps gives off. you plant thinks its that time of year to speed up the flower process because of that. but then again some hps lights have some blue as well depending on the brand. I am going to use straight MH at 400w to achieve shorter plants. I'm not going to top just let that donkey dick grow. I'm thinking I should get at least 2 o's off this puppy.

oh and 250w its much more than plenty for your space in fact I wouldn't go any higher with the wattage unless u get a much bigger grow room.

you should get some seeds from single seed centre when you get the money. if you spend 20 euros you get two freebies and it is quick on the shipment like a week.

I can probably raise my light a few more inches. I think there might be some light bleaching on my leaves. The 250 watt light is definitely enough light for the area I am growing in. I am planning on upgrading to a bigger area grow tent soon. I was planning on using the tent as a flower room. My humidity today has been 30%-45% with the new light. I was thinking about ordering some seeds off there tomorrow. Also very nice buds.

bleaching isnt really a problem it will just make the tops lighter and the potency will be the same. 250w will cover a good area like 3x5 or slightly more. your humidity is perfect. what strains are thinking of getting? I would suggest black honey haze or BlZ bud but they are out at the moment. I would go with a indica dominate strain seeing as you and I have height restrictions due to the fact we grow indoors. there are tons of good indica and indica dominate hybrids out there especially the afghani strains. good luck man.

I was looking at some good strains for you and TGA Subcool has a strain called pandora's box which sounds wicked its jack the ripper x space queen

I actually bookmarked a whole bunch of different strains. I looked at BCN diesel, Black diesel, Big band, Brainstorm, Caramelo, Pineapple chunk, jack diesel, trainwreck, ak48, california orange, crimea blue, grapefruit diesel, blueberry, blue mystic, humboldt, super haze, and sour diesel.

all stellar strains my man, check attitude sometimes you can get cheaper prices and I think they give freebies as well. So far my BCN Diesel is doing great is crystalized with trichromes all over the colas and the popcorn buds. I hope next weekend I can chop her down and get to the drying and curing stage. I took a descent, not to big, of a bud and am letting it dry to see how it is now. I have big band, AK48, and Humboldt.
