First Grow. Yellowing leaves. Too much Nitrogen or not enough?!

One strain is Blueberry and the other is Sour Diesel. The pics associated with this post are of the Blueberry, which is worse then the Sour Diesel. Leaves have started yellowing from the bottom up with some dry, dead tips. Plants are in 3 gallon Smart pots with half Super soil and half Roots organic. They have been flowering for 6 weeks under a 400 wattt hps that is kept around 16 inches from the tops. Room temperature is 73 degrees w/ a relative humidity of 40%. I know some yellowing it acceptable during flower but I just want to make sure. I appreciated the help.

Thanks,
Stan

Did you check your PH and PPM?

PH is the cause of the majority of problems growers face on the forum apart of overwatering and the related problems.

When the side of the leaves are yellow like this, it's usually a potassium deficiency. Your plant is flowering so this is normal that leafs are turning yellow but i still see some little things on your leaves. If i was you i would check my PH and PPM. Look at the verry tip of the leaves, you see some nuts burn. Maybe just mix it lighter and monitor your PH before feeding the plant.

No nutes are used due to it being super soil. Ph is always checked before using water from my r.o. unit. I keep it between 6.5 and 7.0.

Thanks,

I guess if that is the case ill give them a shot of earth juice bloom. I plan on using 5 gallon next time.

I always use a bigger container than needed for the plant during flower to ensure it will get enough of what it needs to be plenty healthy at the end of flowering for hash making purposes

And sometimes you need to tailor you soil for different strains

You can also top dress your plant meaning add some super soil to the top of your current soil, this will feed your plant when you water next & if you feel you containers getting lite it's time to up grade the container

Good luck

I do one bloom tea with earthjuice catalist and guanos at week 3. This does give the mycos a boot and makes the supersoil kick out more food. Also top dressing with supersoil did work awesome for me also. I would not even bother with the EJ bloom...those plants look great for 6 weeks that fadeing is normal. You dont want to finish with green fan leaves anyway. Hell I get lower leaves that turn bannana yellow all the time.....but those look like normal plant finishing up flowering to me.
