First Grow, White Widow CFL

Hi all,

Like the title says this if my first ever grow. I am growing some Feminized White Widow seeds I ordered from Nirvana.

As of now I germinated 2 of my 5 seeds and I figure I will try and learn as much as possible from this first attempt, before getting into my other seeds. Any and all input is welcomed and appreciated!

Here is the setup:
- Grow Room is a closet under the stairs with dimensions roughly: 2.5' deep, by 4' long, by 5' high. after 2.5' in length the roof tapers down with the stairs.
- Room is painted white and 3 sides are covered in reflective insulation
- I have a pc fan attached to a dryer hose to vent hot air out and a standard house fan pushing cool air in from the basement
- there is one small fan in the room aimed at the plants (thank you to those who suggested it)

Lights:
- 2x 105 watt 6500k CFL
- 2x 105 watt 2700k CFL
- 8x 23 watt 2700k CFL

I am growing in a 50/50 blend of FFOF and Happy Frog. I ordered the fox farms trio of nutrients for down the road.

Only one of the two seeds has sprouted and after a brief scare(https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/617652-bad-first-grow-post-everything.html) seems to be doing well, I'm slowly losing hope for the other one though.

I have two seedsman white widow I'll be doing on my next grow so I'm subd! Do you plan on using cfls the entire time?

Bigcat, right now the plan is to use CFLs the whole way, I don't think my room could handle anything bigger

Things seems to be going well. My grow room lost power for about 8 hours yesterday so hopefully that didn't mess her up too much. The second seed has sprouted but doesn't really seem to be growing vertically , its seems to still be alive though, so this will be interesting to see what happens.

I use FFOF to start all my seeds in also and they look the exact same with the purple stem and the leaves start kinda purple and then come out to a really lush green. Anybody know what that is from?

Not a whole lot to report, She looks to be growing well (although really slow). I'm seeing some white residue on the leaves and I assume that is some kind of deposit left over from evaporating water and hopefully its nothing bad. The second seed shriveled up and didn't make it, oh well it looks like this girl is going solo.

Day 12

Lots of new growth is showing up, despite the fact that she seems to be really really small still. Not sure if that is a bad thing, but seeing as she is getting bushier and thicker by the day I'm optimistic.

Is it bad that she is so small still? and how do you know when she is ready for a bigger pot? Any advice possible would be awesome!

This afternoon I decide to move her into a larger pot and took some pictures

She is tiny, and doesn't seem to be growing too much. I'm starting to get a little worried.

Any thoughts, opinions, advice?

Edit- Lately it has been really cold in my house and the room temp has dropped to a steady 74.1 would that affect anything?

I bet you soaked that whole pot with water didnt you? Lol To me it looks like they are a little droopy, id guess from over watering lol. I could be wrong though. If you think im right just make sure you let that container dry out before you give her water again and when you do just give her a litre or somthing like that. Plants look good bud, tneyre off to a good start

Yeah, that is exactly what I did.

No prob bro, everyone usually does it (not me lol) but theyll be fine. I under water and this happens...if you look at the plant on the top left you will see the signs of needing water. Then it turns into the middle ones. Those plants were right perky 45 min after watering. I try to check my plants at least once in the morning and once at night. If the container feels hollow when you lift it, water, thats how i know, weight in your hand.

She has recovered and seems to be growing extremely well over the last 3 days. It has been 10 or so days since I last watered her and as the pot is drying up she seems to be growing faster! There is also a fairly strong odor when you open the closet door now. Everything seems to be headed the right direction.
