Hey, can i ask what fan and filter you got going in your tent?
And what's the ambient outside the tent? I have a new Vipar A300 and haven't been able to test it on a full grow, just waiting to finish my new wardrobe where it will live. I did test it for heat and sound and found it loud and hot.. I'm going to replace the fans with Xilence and hope my 6" fan will get rid of the heat fast enough.

for my exhaust i have 2 pc fans running without any filter to a 10v power suply. im not exactly sure what the cfms are on them. Unfortunately i still havent got my hands on a proper thermometer and since this part of the house has no ac i really have no idea how hot it is. although i will tell you my aquarium in the room reached like 86 degrees of water temp. i dont have any other lights to compare the sound to but as far as heat goes, the metal casing of the light feels pretty cool with just the glass panel feeling less warmer than a small cfl, although i might not be feeling the full heat since its already hot as hell up here and that might be throwing me off. ill try to get some thermometers/hygrometers for in and out the tent and post it up here.

OK thanks:) What do you do about smell? Yes the actually panel is only warm but the heat those fans throw out the sides.. maybe i'm worrying about nothing but i had the A300 and the Han's panel in a cab and temps were at 32c (89f)
but i guess i don't need another panel in there. Thanks:)

i was sort of waiting to really see what kind of control ill need, but to be honest, i really cant smell a thing coming from the tent so its going to go on hold since i dont feel like swapping the quite pc fans for a super loud and expensive inline with a carbon filter. the most expensive thing i HAD to pay for was 80 bucks for a reliable ph meter(traded ipod for tent, but it was worthless to me so...) other than that ive been trying to do this as cheaply as possible. (pc fans/recylcled buckets/maxibloom etc.)

Since its been 6 weeks flowering, i am now changing from straight maxibloom and adding some powder koolbloom to the mix. today they were watered from a 4 gallon bucket containing a maxibloom dose for 3 gallons and 1 gram of koolbloom(1.25gr is full dose).

New camera on its way!:bigjoint:

That's great you if you can get by without big & noisey fan/filter. I'm surprised you don't notice the smell.
Do you have neighbours close by? I could of done it cheap but i don't have the patience to wait for bits to come up for free. If you can do it with PC fans I'll just shut up worrying:) I have a 6" S&P fan on a variac and i'm building the homemade silencer tonight... Keep up the good work :)

fortunate enough that there arent any people to worry about in the area, let me know how the silencer works out though, i may steal your build for when i do need it down the road!

how the girls lookin alex? :D
Looking well! although im going to tease you guys and make you wait for my new camera to get here! :fire:
So far i think the afghan skunk will be ready in a few weeks as i saw just a few amber trichs with mostly cloudy. however the jack is now demanding to be watered every day(container goes bone dry) although it still has a lot of clear trichs so i think it will need more time. so far i dont think i fried anything with the kool bloom either so i will continue with using the ratio of the last mix and watering every day.

Hello Alex281 very impressive grow I realize it has been awhile since you have posted on this thread; but I was wondering how the vipar was performing for you a year later and if you had to send it in under warranty how the service time was and such?

i got an olympus e-500 its a really old dslr from like 2005 but i paid a 150 and the lense it comes with is worth more than that(plus other goodies.). im sure it will take great pics since im not under any extreme conditions and ive seen some pretty impressive stuff with it. are you looking for a really nice dslr or a point and shoot?

Hi! Thanks for checking out the grow. I think you might be mistaken with the time because i posted here yesterday and have not come close to having the light for a year. although i dont think ill ever need to service this light you can send out an email to the owner with any questions regarding any service and im sure you will get a reply back ASAP.

Seems cool man! asides from my main nutrient line of maxibloom (and koolbloom) i still have a ton of free samples im going to need to use up including some voodoo juice and some veg/bloom nutes from sierra natural and roots organics. definitely going to keep it in mind though next time i go shopping for nutrients.

Hey Guys

Just bought a tent and fan off of kijiji dimensions of the tent are 2.3'x4.3'x7' it came with a typhoon 4" fan no filter. I really like the idea of LED and between your experience here and Curly's as well I figure who better to ask whether to get 2X A200 or 1X A300 to put in my tent. And thanks for the recommendation previous alex they were a great help.

Thanks

It will be worth the wait though.however, had i known my jack plant was going to stretch that much from the time it grew during veg i would've flipped way earlier.

I agree with the 2 A200's. it will give off a good amount of intensity in that space. no less than 400 watts for sure. Let me know how it turns out!
