I take a BO PEEP hook and pin the entire main stem over to the side, right into the rootball. I usually wait until they're about a foot tall and I only attempt the bend after a good watering soaks in...there's a lot of LST info out there...don't over think it though...g/l

Top them first once or twice and get multiple growing tips to tie outwards.

You have not hurt anything, you just don't have much to work with at this point.

like ^aim said but u have the idea, when u go to flower is when they haul ass.
Agreed.
My last 3, I was still training well into flower.
Trying to LST now, they look like only 4" tall, what is there to train?
After you top, as the shoots grow, you can train them down, and add more string to each one or move your string farther up to keep the tips down.
Here's my last Winter plant.

Should i turn the plant over to the other side after a while? Or just leave it to one side? And i topped them around 2 days ago the 2 main tops are starting now instead of the one was thinking of topp ing them again to get 4. They look like they have grew quite abit more over lastnight whilst i took one of the top fan leaves of which was hanging over the top of the lower growth. Heres a picture from todayimage.jpg

I tied over my main stalk to the pot when it was about 10 inches tall. The results were awesome. This was my first grow. Its a staggering difference I only lst'd 2 plants and left the other two to do what they want. Now well into flowering my LST plants have about 6 more colas.

One thing I did notice about this tho it seems the LST put the plants back a week. The two plants I left untouched seem to be further ahead.

this is a fairly normal response. Lst requires the redistribution of the auxins, which takes a little time, and then you let them respond so yeah, about a week for the stress and recovery sounds ok.

These are now on 1 week 4 days and the width of them are around 14-17 inches im going to leave them in veg for around another 2-3 weeks

OMG THOSE POOR PLANTS! i like to take coat hangers and just cut them into peices and pin down parts and move the hangers around when i LST. ive been doing it but im going back to just topping since im running more plants.

roots coming out the bottom happens to everyone. they will get air pruned or turn green or just die off. its nothing to worry about.

your rocks are just acting as more media and they will try to grow into them if they are wet. i dont use anything in my trays and sometimes i lift my bucket up and 6 inches of root is hanging out.

The string is just looped around them loosly it isnt tied on them properly and i take the string of every other day to move the braches around. And ok thanks
