First grow! Total beginner Journal!

Hey guys, I did a few things. I raised the plant so it would get more light. It looks like the leaves might be curling a little bit but I don't know if I'm just being paranoid. Also the temperature was at like 86ish today which has me worried. I can't attach any vents from outside or anything and the box is in a small closet. What can I do to keep the temps down?

Hey I'm also growing a northern light auto cross right now! She's almost done and looking beautiful! I can help or give you feedback about this strain. (Lights, nutes, ect.) I also have a bunch of threads and post about this strain, that answer a lot of basic questions. I have a journal that i have recorded almost everything about this grow since seed. I think as a new grower (a spot i was in not too long ago) you might benefit from taking a look. Heres a link to the thread … https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/812527-my-1st-grow-seed-up.html

Good luck with your 1st grow, and let me know if I'm needed!
Happy growing!
:peace:

If u smell it the fumes are getting to the plant as well. Definatly let it air out till u cant smell it. No telling what the fumes will do to your baby

Thanks for the feedback guys! And Rez, I'm about to check out your journal! In the meantime, heres a few updates that are concerning me, and that I could use some help with:

Today is day 18, some things are popping up that are making me a bit concerned.
Here's a list of things, and some pictures that correspond with them:

1. The plant seems to be growing tilted, away from the light. I always thought that they try to grow towards the light, but I try to make her stand straight my moving some dirt around, and she keeps tilting. Today it's worse than it has been. Her leaves are also pointing downwards at the tips. I watered yesterday, with pH 7 water only, and the runoff was 5.0-5.5ish (I'm going to take Andy's advise and pick up some crushed dolomite lime asap):

2. There is a brown spot that formed on one of the first true leaves (NOT a fan leaf):

3. The same leaf that the spot formed on is the leaf that is closest to the exhaust fan. The exhaust fan has been catching some white web-looking things, that are blowing around that are attached to the outside of the fan. The same white web looking things are on this leaf that is closest to the fan. It's hanging off the side a bit and is also on the top of the leaf a bit. It just looks like fine little white strings, but they're only on this leaf(closest to the exhaust fan). I checked for spider mites on the under sides of the leaves, but it looked clean. Nothing to be seen (yet). Any idea what this is? Could it just be dust?(the third picture shows the clean under side of the leaf with the strings):

4. The stem has little root nodes all over it. Should I bury it more? Or leave it like this? Maybe if I bury it more it'll stop tilting? This would also allow me to mix the dolomite lime in better and just add that
to the pot? But I've also heard that burying the stem more can cause stem rot.

Recently the temps in the box have been doing fine. Right now it's at 73 degrees (that's where it usually is, and it hasn't gone above 81 in a while, and when it does it goes back down to around 77 pretty quick.

Yesterday I was supposed to water(third day without water) but something came up and I couldn't. So I am going to water today, this time with 1/2 tsp grow big and 1/2 tsp big bloom. I was going to follow the schedule posted earlier in this thread (which would have called for tiger bloom as well for this water) but then I read that it's a bad idea to start tiger bloom until flowering starts.

Anyways,
today her leaves seem to be curling upwards a bit. I don't think it's ehat stress since the box is around 73 degrees (and on the royal queens website it says that northern lights does well in high temps anyway). Could she just be thirsty? To me it looks like heat stress but I really don't think that's the case.

Added some dolomite lime yesterday and watered with pH 7 nute mixture today. Still came out 5.0. :/

also so not sure if it's too early to tell if these are male or female preflowers:
I bought fem seeds but you never know

too early to tell on the sex...but if they are feminized seeds, than i can almost guarantee u it will will be female...as for ur pH....lime might not be enough, or ur not using enough....u might have to get some pH up from amazon or ur local hydro store

Hey guys! Some updates for day 21.

I know a lot of people say that they don't start to smell until flower, but she smells. No joke. Not crazy dank, but she smells. The room with the closet she's in smells like weed. Noticeably, but not overwhelmingly.

She's definitely a female! Sexed today (:

I hope she gets taller before she starts to flower, Id like to get a decent yield for my first grow! Hopefully at least 10g.

Her stem is still growing crooked. I don't think it's a terrible thing though, because the leaves are straight. The leaves are pointing directly upwards, but the stem is curved. Strange.

Yesterday I watered. It took a LOT of water until it started draining out the bottom. (Almost 3/4 of a gallon). But when it did start draining, a lot came out. Could this mean that my soil is really compact down from watering? I hope not because wouldn't that keep the dolomite lime from spreading? It's little pellets of dolomite lime. Smaller than the size of a bb pellet. About the size of a lentil. Some smaller.

also, some of the leaves seem to be growing backwards or something. Is this normal? The newer leaves growing at the bottom are growing upside down almost. There's a picture of it below.

heres some pictures:

thats a good question, but if ur 7.0 pH'ed water is not upping the runoff water to abut 6.0 to 6.5 u may wanna try it in the near future.....or let the lime sit a little and see what happens...she looks healthy so i wouldnt be too worried about it right now and congrats on that girl
