Sup There!

I wanted to smoke my home grown weed cause as I became a casual smoker, I realized I wanted better sources than my friends, that have excellent grass but that live too far away to supply me, or than shady dudes in the streets selling buds of doubtful quality. It led me to buy 5 Auto#1 seeds from http://www.marijuana-seeds-canada.com/ which came stealthy within a week and a half without any problems. I will grow in my room at my father's place, which means : LOW PROFILE.:!:

PC case should be ok as I have a place to hide it, and as a techno lover, I find it easy to justify the presence of a non-functioning computer in a hidden part of my room. Plus, it is for my personal consumption and maybe a friend or two, and auto#1 is a dwarf plant.

So, while waiting for the seeds I began to build my PC case with two 12VDC fans, one intake at low level and one going out through a homemade carbon filter at higher level to moderate the heat coming from six 27W CFLs.

I have three cool white and three warm white for a total of 10,5K lumens and 162W.

I received the seeds on april 18 and put 2 of them in water in a dark place immediately. I Transplanted them in jiffy cubes on april 20, and right now, one of them sprouted and the other one is on her way. I plan on making a mini SCROG and bending the plants to make the side branches grow faster if the central stems grow up too much for the case. What mesh size should i use?

Lol i hope your extractor fan is FUCKING AMAZING coz otherwise that is going to get hot as hell.

edit: especially with an all over layer of insulating bubblewrap.

Also think about the consequences for your father if you were to be caught however unlikely that is. (especially if you are not legally an adult).

hmmm - you better start flowering immediately because there is no room for any veg growth whatsoever in that case

WOW WOW WOW... Humidity + Heat + Space = 1 gram...no room for veg!...Not enough harvest for the headache if your Father finds it.

Do not listen to these nay sayers! Cannabis Ruderalis is a very sturdy, easy to grow and resilient plant. I'm sure you already have seen many successful PC Stealth grows. I'm honestly a little impressed. I don't see anything you should be worried about besides heat. But even that isn't too big of a deal I'm sure it's not gonna be 90 degrees in that son of a gun. But if you need some quick fixes due to heat (IF ITS NOT AN ISSUE KEEP IT YOUR WAY)I would replace the Mylar/windshield cover thing with plain white computer paper and possibly reduce the amount of lights and grow one at a time for next time. But I think you're lookin good, pop a thermometer in her and see how it goes!!!

Actually yes, my fans are doing an awesome job... not too much humidity and the heat is just perfect. And one of my seedlings just did not made it out of the shell and rotten inside it so I guess that's gonna be only one plant :(

I plan to flip on 12/12 as soon as I have two set of leaves, that should be good enough to avoid outgrowing the case. Plus, Auto#1 is a dwarf plant...

Edit: thanks for the uplift, Sppoc

Hey man, definitely do it the way you want I just wanna give you my input. I would consider not flipping it immediately but maybe just LST her. If you have her in a small enough pot she can't out grow her pot so also look into that. But yeah autos in general are short and your specific strain is very. Andddd you have a lot more space no woth just one plant which i would suggest any way. But do it the way you want and learn during the process! Have fun!

Sub'd to thread. Looks like a nice little setup, really interested to see how it all turns out.

Just readin through your first post again re: scrog screen. I did a scrog years back, on a much bigger cab and thought it was amazing. Then recently decided to get back into growing just so i had a small amount of percy to get me buy without having to buy the local cheap stuff. Anyways, I was convinced I'd go scrog, but after getting things set up and planning it out, and having a good bit of advice from RIU, I've completely changed my mind. I think scrog's just a bit too constricted in a pc case, and I was suggested that a full canopy might not give any room for the plant to breath beneath the leaves. So i'm going extreme lst, it's a daily job, but it's nice to spend a bit of time with her. Mine's about 17days old on 12/12 from seed. I've kept her lst'd from about day6-7 and she's nice and low, and gonna try and train her to fill the best part of the pc box. Just some stoned thoughts. Tho if you do go with scrog. i'd recommend making one out of thin nylon wire, like the stuff you get in those hand mower edge trimmer things. it's easy to move the plant in and out of it, and it's dead easy to cut it away at the end and remove it from her then.

ramble ramble ramble...

oh and probably about an inch apart.

First leaves showed up yesterday! I water it every 12 hours because the fans evaporates humidity in the peat pellets quite quickly.

When should I begin to LST her?

I've never personally grew an autoflower but i would say begin LST once she can handle it. once the stem is strong enough to be bent a little

Damn it...

Things turned to shit today, as I came back from work to realize my whole set of lights had fallen off on the poor seedling...

20130426_161020.jpg

Indeed, she had suffered from extreme heat stress and maybe also from dehydration, as the soil was dry as fuck. I turned off the whole thing and transplanted her very carefully to allow the roots (still healthy, as I could see, because the main root had got all the way through the peat pellet hoping to find some water... ). It had to be done fast and I only had one size of pot around, so it may seem big...

The soil is a mix of good dark dirt, peat and a little vermiculite to help keeping the humidity.

Picture of the very weak seedling after the rescue operation:

I still don't know if she will pass the night... I hope for the best, but i seriously think about germinating another seed if things go wrong...

Edit: those goddamn lights have been firmly fastened to the case as I am writing. That shit won't happen to me twice.

Bummer dude she may make it.But look on the bright side (pardon the pun) she has now had HST (high stress trainng) if she makes it, shes good to go!

I think she is going to make it :)

After a few hours a little further from the lights and some watering and good care, she began to stand a little on her own, as opposise to 4 hours ago when the stem was so weak it could not even hold the two tiny leaves...

I will stay careful though, I still ignore if the leaves are badly damaged or still a little dried from the heat. I'll check it out tomorrow morning, only time will tell...

It's an autoflower. Flipping the lights won't make it flower any faster. I'd grow it under at least 20/4 light, and use small pots to keep the plants small.

It turns out the first set of leaves were so badly burned I had to cut them  . At Least, the second set in coming fast...

The lower part of the stem still looks bad, however. It is thin and its colour is a sick green-yellow... I am afraid this will eventually climb on the stem. Any idea what this could be?

I hope it is gonna live :o
