2'(D)x4'(W)x4'(H) Mylar grow tent - http://www.ebay.com/itm/48-x24-x48-MYLAR-HYDROPONICS-GROW-TENT-ROOM-4X2X4-CLONE-T004-/280866988079?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4164fa202f#ht_7296wt_1163
400w lumatek digital ballast - 400w MH for veg/seedling, 400w hps for flower

The tent has four double sock ventilation holes, one on the top and bottom of each side panel. I am planning to use the bottom two as fresh air intake with 200-400 cfm duct fans and the top two as exhaust - I'll combine the two exhaust ports into one with ventilation tubing and attach a 20" carbon filter. I was considering purchasing an air cooled reflector for an easy exhaust cooltube but am not sure if it's the best idea. I'm not really sure how to setup an efficient airflow / odor control system yet so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am planting two blackjack automatic's in 5 gallon smart pots using a soilless mixture - Pro Mix BX. I will feed every 2nd - 3rd watering depending on plant needs using foxfarm nutes at 1/4-3/4 strength based on age / size / needs.

My main concern is how to feed properly. Is the best indicator just to test the moisture of the mix with my fingers? Should I invest in a spray when I put them in darkness (20-4) ?

This will be my very first attempt at growing and I want to yield some delicious personal medicine.

I'm handwatering my scrog right now. I have the plants in coco and have to water them every day. Some say it sounds like a chore but I like doing it. Kinda relaxing, for me at least.

Wait for the pots to get fairly light before watering. At the beginning, in 5 gallon pots, you'll probably have to water them every 3-4 days with about half a gallon each. As they mature the feedings will increase...when I'm in full flower, they're getting about a gallon every other day. Hope this helps!

How often do you add nutes to your waterings though? every 2-3 ?

depends on the strain most cases and how healthy they are at the time of feeding.sounds scary but imo after a few screw-ups and burns(happens to the best of us) you'll get a better handle/understanding on they're individual needs.
best of luck pank
