First Grow. Scared and Excited.

Hello all,

This is my first grow. I got 13 WW(Fem) seeds from www.bcseedking.com on 5/14/2011. I germinated in paper towels unitl sprouted and then planted in soil on 5/16/2011. Today marks the conclusion on the first week since planted and They are all a various stages.

Out of the 13 seeds
1-8 - Have popped out looking fairly well
9 - Is giving concern, has popped but little to no signs of growth
10-12 - Have not cleared the soil at all
13 - Was a dud seed

Currently they are in a setup under 4-40watt florescents

I plan on moving them over to 1000watt MH at the conclusion of the second week.

My grow room is a work in progess as time moves on I will imporive it to what I want it to be. Financial restrictions at the present time are limiting my abilities to do all that I would like to do.

I have done my reading for several MONTHS and have been checking my PH and allowing the H20 to sit out at least 24hours to eliminated the clorine. I hope to have some other strains soon. I am so excited, and though it has only been I short while.

All comments and recommendations are welcome. Thank you all and I look forward to updating the progress weekly.

Nice strain. Do you have some sort of ventilation in place, running a 1000W MH produces a lot of heat and without proper ventilation you'll cook the whole room. I'm not sure if your in a house or apartment but the light socket in the middle of the room (assuming your upstairs) should probably go straight into the attic. Given you have access to the attic this would be an ideal place to vent from if you plan on growing in this area of the house. This is what I have done in my own closet set up and has really kept the smell and heat down. Also if you are low on funds I would suggest a ballast that allows for MH or HPS because when you start flowering you MH isn't ideal (although you can still grow killer crops under it) or just getting a HPS to start because they have good range for veg. stage as well.

^^YUP^^Definitely going to need to cool that light. To give an example, I have a 600 watter, and with no cooling but a regular fan the temperature got to around 100 degrees. That was in a walk in closet, roughly 5x6.

Yes I went with the MH/HPS interchangable.. I will be setting up ventilation when the lights arrive. This site is a separate house, was my storage shed but I made some changes to covert to my grow space. I pland to close off the tiled room making that my veg area. Then I am working on the room where the door is which will soon me the flower box. And thanks for the vent sugestion I never considered going through the attic space...
