first grow room, need alot of help

i am looking to put together an average grow room with a few plants and i am not trying to spend a ton of money. the room i decided to dedicate for this is about 8ft long, 5ft wide and 8ft tall. any suggestions would be nice as to what lights to use or how many watts or suggestions on the best growing method for the space im in and the budget i am on.500$ on a set-up would be nice and of course i would want to upgrade it in the future. so i would like to invest in something that is nice and going to last and something i could use to upgrade

well you need to know what system you are going to use , unless you are growing soil . what are your needs ? afew plants so like only 3? go with a 400w or 600w to flower . but you will need just more than a light . you will need to exhaust heat , cover smell ect . you question is too plain

i would like to grow hydroponicly as it produces more than soil (as i have read). i would like a few plant 3 or 4 just so i can always have my smoke
I was also curious about aerogardens, aeroponics and hydroponics. i would just like to have a nice cycle going producing nice amounts of bud for a reasonable price.
