Hey everybody, I’m a total newbie just started my first grow, I bought a clone and also some seeds from a Seedbank where I live and I have built a microgrow in one of those large plastic boxes that people usually use for moving or storage , the clone is doing great but the seedlings were doing good in the beginning, they germinated i planted them in seed starter mix and they sprouted a day or two but unfortunately out of ignorance I have put all three seeds in jiffy pots. I’ve been reading online and.a lot of people say jiffypots are a big no. The very bottom leaves or cotelyn forgot what there called the first two that grow are turning extremely yellow , top two leaves seam fine though. My question is can I transplant the seedling into a small plastic pot (plants are 8 days old) right now before putting them in their bigger permanent pot later??i have supersoil that I plan on using when I transfer into permanent pot. Should I give any nutrients before I do that as well? Sorry for long ass question guys like I said TOTAL NEWBIE much appreciated gracias!

Where did you hear jiffy pots are a no-no? I use them all the time with success. I think your problem is the seed starter soil you used. Next time use regular potting soil. NOT Miracle-gro or anything that feeds for x# of months. I grow mine in a medium size tote with two 9Watt LED's. I would transplant them into the super soil and give water only for the next few weeks. They should start to recover. Next time. pictures of your problems help out.

Just take it easy on them and ride it out moving them now would probably just shock them to death if they’re on the fringe let em recover just give em plain water When the soil drys and they may take move em you’ll probably sign their death sentence let em root

Jiffy pots work fine. I don't use them for weed, but I use them a lot for my garden veggies. They work great for me. Like the others have said, just take it easy on them. They are babies and can't take much. Plain water only when needed... no intense light levels... I like my temps in the low 80s for seedlings. Wait till roots pop through and put the whole thing in it's next container when "potting up".

You can do two things, either pull them apart carefully and repot, I don't recommend this, or pot the jiffy up into a bigger pot, then when they're all bigger with more roots you can carefully pull them apart. I don't like jiffys, I used to use them a lot but I found out you can get a bacteria or fungus in them if they've sat in the shop for too long, lost hundreds once because of this, now I just pot from paper towel straight to solo cup.no nutes, just water, re pot about two weeks from planting ( if solo cup)

Thanks so much guys! I had 4 seedlings all in jiffy cups, so I decided to just re pot one of them instead of risking to lose them all. tiltswitch I took your advice and slowly pulled apart the jiffy cup and re potted in a small plastic pot with the same seed mix. Its been two days since ive done that and it seems so far so good, seedlng is gowing new leaves everyday, health seems to be getting better. When would be the right time to transfer the plants into supersoil, I have bought some fom a hydroponics store from where I live, its called Destiny-dark matter?
