First Grow - Nutes for OFHF?

Hey fellow stoners, I am using Happy Frog for my first grow and was wondering the recommended feeding process? Any recommendations for nutrients and when to start? This would help me a lot I am worried the Nutes will run out and stunt the flowering process. I’m putting perlite in for drainage as well. Anything will help and kill some anxiety! I’d prefer to go a more cheaper route but not bad product either.

I currently have 3 seedlings that just sprung out of the dirt and I plan to transplant them into their own 5 gal pots. These girls are outside as well right now but I do have a tent set up for two plants as well. Outdoor is also new so any advice would be dope.

just thought I’d give you guys an idea of where my headspace is. ✌

You shouldn't need to feed anything for a long while but by flowering time you'll want something and the list is so long it's impossible to say what you should or want to use. I'm way up in northern Alberta and only grow autos outside as regular plants can never finish in time before frost or snow shows up.

If you're trying to keep expenses down then plant food made for tomatoes would work. Stuff like Jack's Professional or Peter's is used by a lot of guys but stay away from Miracle Grow or Shultz's.

Check out PDFdrive.com and search for books on cannabis for lots of info.

I use that when starting with new soil. I'll run autos outside starting in small pots of happy frog I'll transplant at week 3 into 5 gallon OF. Photos same small pot a month in transplant into 2 gallon pots then another month 5 or 7 gallon pots. That feeds alone autos up to 2 months photos up to 3 months. When I used liquid nutrients I would just get periodic runoff readings and begin feeding when ppm level would drop below suggested ppm for plants age. I wouldn't ph water until you start using liquid nutrients. Ocean forest has organic material that's food for microorganisms that feed the plant. They ph the rhizosphere pretty well themselves. Liquid nutrients are readily available and have to be a certain ph for plant consumption of that nutrient. Growing organically I'll make beneficial teas ( fulvic acid, worm juice, fish poo, kelp meal, alfalfa meal, mycorrhizae etc. ) top feeding ( organic amendments) 3 wks after transplanting into final pot. I dont ph anything I will periodically test soil with a blue lab soil pen. Autos you'll never see a difference photos will have a higher ph 4 months in I've read 7.3 but showed no negative effects.

If using ff use the ff line of nutrients all you need are the basic 3 big bloom, grow big, and tiger bloom with calmag. You could get kelp me kelp you, microbrew, and wholly mackerel. Look into beastie blooms, cha ching, and open sesame for flower. If you feed too much and start locking out or getting toxic the sledgehammer does well at helping cleanse soil. Good luck bud

Thanks dude I definitely appreciate it. I was gifted 200 seeds so I thought I’d give her a go. Does it matter what numbers I get for the end?

Dude, wow, thank you for all that I appreciate it. I saw a chart for the 12 nute regimen for HF but I figured if I used the liquid 3 I should be good then.

Yea you'll be good with just the 3. I've used the dirty dozen what I listed is what I still use besides the basic 3, calmag, and sledgehammer. Just make sure when you start using liquid nutrients when you can water a whole pot, have your pot on a pot elevator, and water until 20% run off. I would have to flush before each grow cycle, once I started these run offs I didn't flush anymore. Flushing and hefty run offs clean out salt and nutrient build up that can lead to plants locking out. This is for only when using liquid nutrients.

You want something that's higher in K, (the last number), than the N or P. Plants need much less P than what most people throw at them so don't be most people.

Some Epsom Salts from the drug store or wherever for extra S and Mg in flowering is good. Tsp/gal.
