Hey guys I'm currently 3 weeks into flower and some leafs have a white coat of what looks like dust but more white. I have read that powdery mildew doesnt wipe off and this stuff does wipe off, also its not patchy like i've seen in pics its an even coat so im unsure of what it is. my room temps stay between 70 and 80f and the humidity is around 50%, the room also has a carbon scrubber and a fan so I think i have the ventilation part covered. I dont have any pics so i was hoping maybe someone else has experienced something similar.I own a fungicide spray that is in this link http://www.gardeners.com/Organic-Rose-Care/GardenPests_Insects,34-296,default,cp.html would it be okay to spray while flowering? I have small fruits that are developing rather quickly. any help is greatly appreciated. I would rather not spray if not needed.

we can't really help without pics...especially since you are not sure if it's even mildew. If you are convinced it's mildew then use the neem oil spray - do it and do it now because I wouldn't want to spray in the 2nd half of flowering.

Good luck

i sprayed neem oil 3 weeks into flowering. i would recommend doing it to anyone who had a mold or mildew problem during flowering. i dont care about bad taste i care about my nugs not being rotted. also you have several weeks more to go it will be gone by the time you harvest...

GO buy yourself a sulpher burner
a poor mans version is a candle and a cat food tin with sulpher in it.try not to burn your house down :).

seranade is usefull for outdoors but it is only a control not a cure
to really get any effect from it you have to really spray it on the leaf surface hard and sort spray off the pm. sometimes i take the pure seranade and wipe it on leaf with a qtip then spray it off with water.neem can help but wont affect all the spores in the enviroment so youll get a reinfestation as soon as the neem wears down neem stalls your plants growth big time.its good to use on clones you get so that you dont bring pm in but thats its best use . if you are lucky enough to have the plants indoors a sulpher burner will take care of spores in enviro

the sulpher burner lays a thin layer (few molocules thick) and it makes the ph on your leaf to high for the pm to live on.

you can also spray with hi ph water .
I am about to try cranking my room temp up to 95 after 2 days of sulpher burning 2 hours a day.

once the pm has a foot hold the sulpher wont actually get to the leaf it will cover the spores already on the leaf and they will still feed off leaf and not die you will actually see the pm try to live on its little safe islands right after you sulpher burn.

I am not convinced that your crops should be pulled and this is systemic.
i also believe its one of the mellower disasters.this stuff is everywhere it floats in the air and we breath spores of it every day.its on every rose bush grass on north side of buildings weeds whatever its everywhere.you would burn weeds and not even think 2x about the pm in the smoke you would breath while weed burning your property. same shit you throw a log on the campfire ever breath the smoke when it wafts over you what sort of molds and mildews are in that rotting log LOL.
to me its more of a growers problem becasue it can slow down growth and at worst devistate a plant. then an actual health concern in that i believe the material that the mildew actually makes is cellulose so its sort of like smoking a roling paper that has been shreded up and sprayed all over your plant .

alot of times people freak out and the cure leaves alot worse residue then the PM
mostly if its light the pm will be on a few smaller sugar leaves and not invade the calyxs.you can cut it away when you trim and its all good.

some strains are flat out pm proof
i got a blueberry from humbolt that runs clean ther is a product called q10 i beleive that is a competeing fungus think of it as a predator fungus and the pm as a pest. if you get this going it will rule the pm to the point the spores wont even be on the skin casue the q10 will eat it.

sulpher burner FTW but you have to use it preventatively and get the plants as clean as possible prior to heading into flowering.

the big BIG bonus of the sulpher burner is it acts as a foiler fert and will actually help crystal up your buds
(sulpher is one of the main components in all bloom boosters)
i cut 2 weeks before harvest
10 days before harvest on seranade
no neem in bloom sorry it affects taste it is systeminc.

i have thrown away plants that have become over run and had pm on every bit at harvest :(

never smoke it if you can help it but dont freak out if you happen to smoke a tiny bit that you miss on a sugar leaf 1x

Use fat free milk! 3 parts water 1 part FAT FREE milk. the milk has an anti-fungal property to it, fat free wont stink. Foliar spray your whole plant..... you will be amazed. For extra insurance add some PH up. mold cant live in a high PH atmosphere.
MUST BE FAT FREE milk or you will get a crust (the fat content of the milk) on your leaves and block the stomata.

This works and I swear by it! your plants will benefit from the calcium as well.

you can use skim milk or h202...1/4 cup of either per 32oz spray bottle of water....last 3-4 days inbetween applications

I use Greencure www.greencure.net ...its orderless...organic...can be use to the day of harvest... leaves no residue.... 10 day inbetween application

Sulfur burner = rotten egg smell

Powdery mildew is systemic...its inside the plant... I thought some plants were PM resistant...I was wrong....Its also passed on the any clone taken from any infected mom
