Not really you need extraction to recirculate the air and use the oscillating fan to blow on the plants or around the room.
My first grow was done without my extraction fan but after learning the importance of extraction it is a must and just vent the room now and then letting some new air in.
Always have your extractor mounted at the top of the growroom as thats where its hottest as heat rises.

Ok do you really need an inline fan or w.e for only 6-8 plants? I am using a 400w MH for veg and HPS for flowering... but I am growing it in a closet . . Will a regular fan be sufficient ?

Also.. What is a good distance to hang my lights from the plants? Like when they first sprout.. veg.. flowering..

No you will need extraction and here are 2 guides for lamp hanging heights. One is for mh lights and the other for hps.
I start my seedlings with my 400w hps about 10" from the tops and move the light up as they grow maintaining a distance of between 8" and 10" from the leave tops.

32" with an unvented hood in a Tent/Closet.

Never 32" away R.O.F.L.M.F.A.O.
I start my seedlings at lower than 10" from my 400w hps and you have seen my grow room/space.

Yor space is unique. My paoint was if he runs an unvented in a tent/closet he will HAVE to run @ 32". I wanted him to come back and say "I want to run closer"

Yes i know that but if you are running extraction and have your temps sorted its 10-12" for a 400w hps. I start my sprouts under my 400w hps at 10" away without any problem at all.
