I really dont like a tent smaller than a 4x4x6.5 those are perfect for a 1000 watt. A 3x3 will work good with a 200-400 watt. With a 4x4 a lb is easy enough. If you aim is a oz or 2 i dont much see the point, id be out betweem grows every time an id HATE to buy any. Havent bought anything in so many years lol

I agree with you about the oz or two harvest not really cutting it, i've been smoking more and more so i'll probably have to continue to buy a little, but that's ok on one hand because i get to try nice new strains.

Do you think that the source of seeds has a significant effect on final yield or quality of final product? One of my seedlings in my tent is whorled so it has me wondering about genetics.

Chopped one of my widows not bad yield i suppose. Was getting impatient. Don't like couchlock that much.

Here's the other one, it got light stressed and is less mature?

Setup over remaining plant. since one light was free why not right?

Pretty lower flower

Youll find a lot of people have zero real life experiance but have "read a lot and watched youtube so i actually know a lot"
The led hype train includes a TON of disinformation and marketing reps counter the high cost of their lights with lies about costs to run hps.

Heres another gem of info thats overlooked, generally speaking a watt is a watt. 1000 watts of cfl, led, or hps makes the same heat roughly. However its easier to duct away the heat from a hps because the whole industry is built around them. Now if there was a led cob built to screw into a industry standard hood, and the option to have the ballast all hooked up like a normal hid ballast id be all over it. To me cooling a led sucks. Then you have temp and humidity issues... maybe i just like hid because thats what im used to and my 5 or so led runs wernt a fair trial. But ive got like so many runs with hps its just so much better imo...
not to be a dick but dont listen to pretty much any of the shit this guys been saying... a lot of info from him in this thread thats not quite right

if you would have given it two more weeks you probably would have 30-50% more yield.. bud was not ready to come down. Congrats on harvesting tho, but next time give it a little more time.

Thank you for the advice. It is clear that the one i harvested is a different plant than the close up i just posted? That one I will let fatten up. But yeah i thought maybe it was a bit early.

Seeds are just about the biggest factor, i always try to do my reseach and spend the money to get good genetics.

Care to point out what your talking about or wtf you mean by that? "Dont listen to pretty much anything this guy says" warrents finding out what exactly you think ive said is bullshit.

Hey all,

This is my first grow and it's been a lot of fun and learning. I am growing two WW fems and one "Purple Nepal" sativa landrace that came with my high grade seeds order.

In FF ocean forest watered with FF bloom as only nute. 3 weeks of flower ~50 days from seed.

Any thoughts or suggestions would very much be welcomed.

I think the Nepalese is interesting because it grew two main stems with no fiddling from me. Is this normal?

Thanks.
i always get depressed looking at led grown plants and just think how they feel missing out on all that lovley hps light i feel sorry for them sometimes feel like starting a show called rescue my midget plants from leds

You see the white pistils on the stuff you chopped? You want to wait until the pistils arent white and sticking out and the calyxes swell.. the swollen calyxes is where you get your dense buds and weight. What will happen with the buds you chopped is they will look nice when you cut them down but by the time they dry properly you'll be like "wtf happened to my bud" lol

they look healthy tho bruh! next time if you're in a pinch for smoke just take a little and let the rest go a bit more.

Still waiting for you to point out what about the things ive said was wrong.

For LED's you want 30-40wsqft not 50 that's a little high, especially with no dimming function, also you're completely wrong about 1000w HPS vs 1000w LED putting off the same heat. Different lights produce different lumens per watt. Some are more efficient at converting energy to light as opposed to heat.

I was talking about hps wants 50 watts a sq ft, if you read the thread he was asking what size hps to get. No shit diff lights produce diff lumens per watt if you read the thread i mentioned that... and i said that ROUGHLY a watt is a watt as far as how much heat is generated and that true. Not exactly the same ammount of heat but roughly.. If you have 1000 watts of led its going to be hot as fuck in there. Same with if you have 1000 watts of cfl, or hps.

Aye I see, live and learn. The other one i'll let the calyxes get juicy.

Thanks mate, around 1/2 oz on the first plant but I plucked it early. Second plant was always a stronger grower so hopefully i'll get to an oz.

Should I let them veg longer (i used about 2 weeks) and put them in larger pots to try to get some more yield? Or does it seem like these ~100w leds would be the limiting factor?
