First Grow: Kuroblack's Closet CFL Adventure

So I'm about two weeks late for my first entry. This is going to be my very first medical grow and I'm outside myself with excitement. My lil ladies consist of 5 Durban Poison and 4 Grand Daddy Purple. I started off with 5 of each but due to a very tragic new grower mistake(I broke off too much rock wool while trying to expose the roots) I killed one.
I wanted to save as much money as possible so I decided to go with Cfl lights instead of the more expensive Hps. I thought my first light set up was great.View attachment 1365253View attachment 1365256View attachment 1365262View attachment 1365263View attachment 1365264
But I was wrong so very very wrong. So I thought lets make them adjustable and grabbed a mic stand and some pvc pipe I had in the garage and made this.View attachment 1365278I cant lie I was proud of myself for a short period before I realized how many lumen I was losing due to poor light fixture planning. I had to think of a way to maximize the amount of lumen making it to my ladies. And then it came to me............. do i really need a light in my garage? Oh well if I do because now i don't lol.Picture 063.jpgPicture 065.jpg
I took an old school florescent light fixture and converted it to run multiple Clf bulbs instead.

So you may ask why 10 plants on your first grow? Isn't that overkill? Please understand this is my first grow and I honestly thought I was going to kill over half of them. So far I've only lost one. However I did almost kill them all within the first 3 days by using Organic Choice MG........... very very very tragic. Never ever ever use that stuff.... nute burn within two days of potting. I had to immediately go to the nearest nursery and pick up some Fox Farm's Ocean Forest Soil and super thrive to help them bounce back.
